Welp, given the outcome of the Tornado Cash and Samourai Wallet trials I don’t see how I could continue working on @CoinStir. Hoping the lines around what constitutes a MSB will be redrawn but seems pointless to pursue this at the moment.

Privacy is fundamental. The results of the Tornado cash ($TORN) trial will impact the industry at large. Blockchain is the future of finance, will it be free and open, or a Trojan horse of censorship and control? @rstormsf @VitalikButerin @preston_vanloon paving the way!

Replying to @VitalikButerin
It’s a tough space to be part of when feds are sending inconsistent messaging around what is and is not acceptable. And nuance in the blockchain space vs defined laws is not helping. Regulation by lawsuit is an ugly practice that is going to hamstring development within the US.

Ethereum L1 is the world ledger.
Ethereum Layer 1 will be the master ledger for the 🌎🌍🌏.
Permissionless to inspect, use and add data or functionality to.
Credibly neutral.
Censorship resistant.
Tamper resistant and tamper evident (via slashing and transparency).
Incessantly progressively decentralizing itself.
With a best-in-class giant community that is constantly hyper vigilant as there will always be patient, well resourced actors working to subvert the system. Fortunately this will get harder and harder as Ethereum grows and matures.
Solving one small, very specific problem as elegantly as possible 🤗
- No token💰
- No custody 🧹
- No investment 📈
Just keeping your balance your business. ✅

I honestly wasn’t expecting privacy to be such a big theme during Berlin Blockchain Week especially within the Ethereum community.
But it makes sense now tbh as crypto is going mainstream, the most important frontier will be privacy.

CoinStir has traditionally relied on an AWS based relayer, but in the near term will be switching to an on-chain relayer furthering its decentralization 🤓
What if you could start a new wallet without anyone seeing who funded it, and not needing to go through a CEX? 🤔
