No one else in Pittsburgh media will say it. I will. This candlelight vigil for the slain doctor is a nice thing. But until the people there start voting for judges who will put people in jail and stop with compassionate bullshit for criminals, this falls on deaf ears for me.

(long tweet warning) Gen Z spans from 1997 to 2012. The oldest members of Gen Z first were able to vote in 2015. The youngest members can't even vote yet. See below for the break down of which political party held control of Presidency, House, and Senate from 2015 to today. (info and chart from Grok because I'm lazy [and a hypocrite on AI yes yes mea culpa]). This is what Gen Z knows. This is Gen Z's frame of reference. From Gen Z's perspective, the Republicans are the ones who have been in charge the most. Let's break it down. The Presidency is evenly split 6-6 R and D. Though, frankly, for most of Gen Z, Obama is a historical figure. I'll give everyone a moment to process that also it's lunchtime Aleve reminder. What most of Gen Z knows is 6 years of Trump and 4 years of Biden. When discussing unitary control, there have been 4 R trifectas and 2 D trifectas. Of the remaining six years when control was split, it's 4-2 R and D in the Senate and 4-2 R and D in the House. It is objective reality that Republicans have had control of the House and Senate more often then Democrats during the time that Gen Z has been able to vote. In fact, it's 8-4 R to D for control in each chamber. From Gen Z's pov, the problems we face are becuase of the Republicans being in charge and there is evidence to support that pov. Moreover, during the two years of D trifectas, the Dems bought off I mean addressed directly the student loan crisis in a way that would buy off SORRY SORRY I mean deal with in a reasonable and mature fashion taking into account the tradeoffs involved in making student loans get paid for by other people I MEAN making the loans affordable for kids right out of college. All Trump's done is sue to stop the plans that helped, passed laws that got rid of all the good plans, and then handled what do to after winning the lawsuits and getting the new plans passed in such an awful manner that no one knows what is going on. (That last bit isn't snark, the DOE is covering itself with anything but glory in dealing with the practical implementation of the new student loan payoff plans and the implementation of the results of the various lawsuits and settlements. To say it has been handled poorly is an understatment.) Much like how I, a member of upper end Gen X, had my view of elections and how Congressional control works formed by the Dems having a nigh stranglehold over both House and Senate until I was in law school, and how Millennials view control of the House being nearly always in play and the Senate at least sometimes in play, for Gen Z, the Republicans are the ones who run the Federal government. Most people, oh, those blissful people, do not pay attention to the minutae of politics and the knife fighting about how the Republicans do not do anything when they have control. Most people just see the colors on the chart below and internalize that R or D is in control. My point, and I do have one, is that commentary about Gen Z and politics needs to start incorporating the reality of the political landscape in which Gen Z started paying attention to politics and started voting. Because that frames how Gen Z will view politics going forward. I have seen little, if any, discussion of this and it matters. It really does. /fin

@HasbroPulse @Target I am so angry right now! Both my pre order Studio Series 86 Starscream and Prowl we canceled this morning. I preordered these two the second they went live. So one would assume I would be a lock to get them. Nope! I can only assume that they let the scalpers buy up a whole bunch and they will fill those orders. Especially when it was a Target exclusive. I didn’t have this trouble with battle damage Megatron, even though it was late. I got that one before I got my regular Megatron, and I had on preorder for almost a year. Hasbro and Target, I get that you got your money, and that is all you care about. But you have to take care of the customers who are legitimately trying to buy. Shame on you both.

Happy National Stick Shift Day! Most of these national whatever days are pointless, but not this one. An increasingly rare option in the automotive world! Thankful for groups like @TMGPS_ for raising awareness about their importance to the car community. Happy to drive one daily.

The Super Hornet line is due to close in 2027, and we don’t have a replacement announced yet. @SECNAV, the FA-XX should have been awarded years ago… but since that hasn’t happened, it needs to be awarded today. The fate of Naval Aviation is in your hands right now. Congress wants it, the @USNavy wants it, and the country needs it. I implore all of you who follow me to share this and reach out to your congressmen.

@AFmuseum hear me out…. Put just one more swing wing on display, just imagine how good she’d look parked next to these beauties and the B-1. She’s right there at DM waiting for you to move her to Dayton. Give me a heads up and I’ll photograph the whole thing. Hell, I bet @RSE_VB, @TexSandlin, or @BlacklionCTA would be willing to fly her over! I rarely do this… but repost this dammit. Let’s peer pressure the USAF to put a Tomcat in there!

The thing you have to remember about this woman and those like her is that she genuinely doesn’t know that anyone disagrees with her basic worldview. She doesn’t even see it as a worldview. It’s just the obvious truth. Of course she knows abstractly that half the country voted for Trump. But those aren’t people. Those are cartoon characters. They’re either fat slobbering rednecks in klan hoods, or mustache-twirling robber barons manipulating the rednecks for profit. Her mental models of them are less complex than her mental model of a squirrel. Anyone she might actually sit down and talk to is, of course, a person, and therefore agrees with The Obvious Truth. It is inconceivable to her that anyone capable of being a pleasant dinner party guest would not share her basic beliefs and values. She wasn’t trying to do a gotcha or extract a pledge of fealty. She was certain that Sydney Sweeney is a person, and therefore only got mixed up in the whole jeans/genes fiasco by mistake. She was trying to do Sydney a favor by giving her a chance to clarify that she is in fact a human being who agrees with the things all real people agree with.

Because @Twitch refuses to take action and prevent Hasan from spreading calls to violence and terrorism apologia to 100ks of followers, I have compiled a list of large corporations whose advertisements are placed alongside Hasan Piker's (@hasanthehun) dangerous content on Twitch. @djclancy999 has protected Hasan from unbiased moderation for years, and has unbanned Hasan every time Hasan faces consequences for calling for murder (which he has done multiple times), or explicitly supporting terrorist organisations. I think that the companies using Twitch to Advertise, and @amazon shareholders, deserve to know how Clancy is running Twitch, and the affect Hasan has had on it. Recently, Hasan published personal information of a critic on his stream, which is expressly against California laws against doxxing. Do these brands want Hasan harassing their potential customers? Yves Saint Laurent Beauté YSL can be reached at the customer service contact form on their website, or 1-866-725-6791. Some of these contact avenues may be outdated, and most of these companies won't care that their ads are being played across Twitch, including on Hasan Piker streams, where streamers like Hasan, @Mike_from_PA, and others, consistently support or promote terrorist groups, and call for or threaten violence. But I'd guess some will. Many of these companies sell largely to children – and I don't think parents will want to buy from a company if they walk in on their child watching ads alongside extremist content like Hasan's, where he calls for things like the murder of U.S. Senator Rick Scott, or U.S. Senator Tom Cotton. You should try emailing some of them and see!
Since Hasan wants to claim that the clip, in which he told his 100ks of Twitch followers to go murder people, was “out of context,” I just wanted to remind everyone that Hasan called for the assassination of @TomCottonAR to his roughly 1 million followers.
