Former police officer Sean Grayson has been found guilty of the death of Sonya Massey, a Black woman.
The jury, composed mainly of White women, voted to convict Greyson of second-degree murder after Greyson shot Massey when she, after multiple warnings, attempted to throw boiling water at Greyson’s face.
Bodycam footage showed Greyson maintaining distance while Massey started speaking of demons before abruptly charging at him with the pot of boiling water that landed at Greyson’s feet.
