51 people ?! The Government is hanging the Conversion Practices Bill on say so of 51 people and we thought it was 100s. 51 people who think something that happened was a conversion practice, if the Government can be wrong about the numbers they can be wrong about that.
The Galop report analysed cases from frontline services. The “hundreds” were actually just 51 people who specifically sought help for alleged conversion practices. Surely the #ConversionPracticesDraftBill should be based on truth, not hyperbole. #BinTheBill

Three years ago, Hamas terrorists unleashed a wave of horror, murdering more than 1,200 innocent men, women & children, & taking 251 people hostage. Today, we remember the victims of this horrendous atrocity & stand with our Jewish brothers & sisters against antisemitism.

This is extremely disappointing. The women of Afghanistan are treated as sub-human. The girls are denied and education. Child marriage and mental, physical and sexual abuse are rife. We ask the ECB to stand with Afghan women and girls without compromise. England to allow stars to play in Afghan T20 despite stance on Taliban thetimes.com/article/1764e5c…

You'll need to give me more than £680 a year if you want me to give up my sex based rights as a woman.

By the end of Christmas 1974, I had developed Nottingham's first pocket sized nuclear weapon, which for the next 50 years kept an uneasy peace with Derby through a policy of Mutually Assured Destruction.

I look to the Home Secretary @ShabanaMahmood @ukhomeoffice to kindly explain what’s going on with Nottinghamshire Police. I look to the policing minister @LabourSJ to kindly explain what’s going on. I look forward to the victims minister @AlexDaviesJones who is very familiar with our case and helped before to even try to articulate what on earth is going on. I’m sure you are as disappointed as I am Ultimately Prime minister, after the whole series of failures that is now ‘Nottingham’ what possible reassurances can you give families in the country about their safety. @downingstreet @andyburnham I fail to articulate my words of disappointment. I am actually overcome by the resounding incompetences, the failure of the IOPC to take any action. Frankly the failure of so many institutions in our country. I look forward to discussing the failures with government. If not for me, for other families who must never suffer like us.

EXCLUSIVE - more disturbing revelations in Nottingham killings of Grace O'Malley-Kumar, Barney Webber and Ian Coates. Nottinghamshire police failed to warn bereaved families that a mentally ill stalker, with a history of threats and police contact, was attempting to locate them. Barney's parents are "staggered" that they were not told for 18 months the man had travelled to Somerset to try and find them. He also attended Grace's father @drsanjoykumar GP surgery wanting to talk about his imagined claims of a coverup in the case. Families left distressed after learning this man was sectioned, only to abscond from hospital - yet even then there were delays in telling them. And police claimed he only wanted to "offer help" and his nurses did not believe he was a threat [not much reassurance to families whose loved ones were killed by Calocane who was sectioned four times]. Police are now facing serious questions about why they did not tell them this man had been referred to Prevent, the violent extremism scheme. They still do not know why. Astonishingly this has only come to light because the stalker, still thought to be sectioned, has made a complaint that the police watchdog hasn't properly investigated his coverup claims. Emma Webber: “It is yet again a systemic lack of transparency, inadequate risk assessment and a severe breach of duty. We have been denied the right to protect ourselves.” She says it is "profoundly upsetting" she and family weren't given warning, particularly as this man travelled to the town where her son Charlie was at school. Sanjoy Kumar notes the contrast that the family of his daughter's killer were offered protection and CCTV by police over concerns about reprisals after attacks in June 2023. “We as victims do not even get a fair warning at the time that this man was missing from being sectioned and trying to find us. This is how the country treats victims, we are second-class citizens.” Full story: thetimes.com/uk/crime/articl… @MrsEmmaWebber

I am furious. Our son was murdered by a man whose violent and vicious history and risks were repeatedly missed. Now we learn that another mentally ill man with a fixation on us and the Nottingham case travelled to Somerset, including our home town, seeking out victims' families; and the police chose not to tell us. @nottspolice knew. The @policeconduct knew. Yet nobody thought Barnaby's family deserved a warning. Nobody thought Charlie's school deserved safeguarding advice. Nobody thought we had a right to know. Is this even legal? Isn’t this within 'Osman warning'. As @drsanjoykumar points out in the story; the Calocane family were heaped with additional support and resources, including CCTV to make them safe. We had zero. How many more shocking failures are we expected to uncover ourselves? Victims' families should not have to fight for every piece of information while those responsible hide behind processes and excuses. STILL no accountability for ANYONE in these failed agencies. ⬇️ thetimes.com/article/9a5e6fb…

I'm Popcorn, a 6-year-old French Bulldog who loves nothing more than a cuddle and stretching out in a sunny spot. I do have some allergies, so my new family will need to help me stay happy and comfortable. Then there's Karl, my 14-year-old Chihuahua x Pug best friend. He absolutely adores treats and a comfy sofa to snuggle up on. We're looking to be the only pets in our new home, but we promise to be the only companions you need! 🐾 We could live with children over 14+ years who understand that some dogs need plenty of space and gentle interactions. We can be left to our own company for up to 4 hours, and we'd love a secure garden where we can sniff and relax. All we hope for is someone who can see what a special pair we are and give us the chance to spend our lives together. Troons - We demand entry into every women's single sex space, sport and service, free drugs and surgery, laws against people laughing at us when we get about in our wank wear, to be referred to as women in every single interaction under threat of arrest and serious fines - and the right to flash our frilly knickers at children every chance we get. Idiots - 👏👏👏👏 You can have it all and more! Women - We want men to stop pretending they're women. Idiots - 🤬🤬🤬🤬 Nazi Authoritarian Bigots! You deserve to be be locked up, lose your jobs, be violently assaulted and abused, and forever shunned from society! NOW SHUT UP OR ELSE!

Today we respectfully protested the @cricketireland decision to host the Afghanistan Mens Cricket team playing at Stormont. While handing out leaflets showing the scale of the human rights violations against women, we were thanked for raising awareness by fans of both teams. Female participation in sport has effectively been outlawed since the Taliban returned to power in Afghanistan in 2021. @WomensRightsNet @WRNAfghanistan and all local groups work to raise awareness of the plight of afghan women who have been erased from public life and suffer horrific abuses. So, today's @ObserverUK didn't publish any letters in response to that painful article last week attacking the WTA sex testing policy. Even this one, apparently. Shame, because I think it's spot on. 🤔
