@edwardswb
This research was enabled by the amazing support provided by @InnovationCA, Ontario, and @NSERC_CRSNG, which also supported the talented Dr. Lauren Welte @weltelauren during her PhD. We are grateful for tremendous support from @QueensEngineer, @QueensMech, @CHI_CIS, and @KHSCceo!
Michael Rainbow @RainbowBiomech @QueensMech and Lauren Welte are among a team of researchers that has discovered it is the recoil of the human foot’s arch, not the spring-like arch itself, that helps lift the body into its next step.

The beads were digitally removed from both the x-rays and CT scans, making it ideal for evaluating markerless tracking approaches! Congrats to @weltelauren for putting this together! It was a massive undertaking!
I may be biased but biplanar videoradiography (BVR) is awesome.
Share in the fun with our recently published method & dataset at JOVE (dx.doi.org/10.3791/63535) to work with BVR data of beaded calcaneus, talus, and tibia motion during running and hopping. We had two main goals:
Very excited about our new installation - 1080 Quantums. Allows us to specify velocity, force, and differential loads for concentric and eccentric contractions for upper and lower extremity research! Also nice to be in the lab again with @ErinLeeQU @mgawheatley and @weltelauren!

Wake up early for a 10k, shower and breakfast and then open emails. Today will be a good day. Well done @Laurali8 @RainbowBiomech and @KDeluzio , it’s a privilege and a pleasure to science with you guys.
P.S. acceptance never gets less exciting
