Bittersweet day as it’s my last one in @WoburnSchools @KMSWoburn after 13 years. I’m beyond grateful for my experiences here & will miss those who have helped along the way. At the same time, I’m excited to move on to @_RPSchools @RocketsRMHS next year & start a new chapter!

I would like to thank Woburn elected representatives who have shown support for our educators. But I can’t. Because there are none. I’m sure I will see you at my daughter’s graduation ceremony, any and all upcoming tournament sporting events.
(1/2) @WoburnTeachers want better pay for paras but @MayorGalvin & the news keep focusing on teacher pay so here are some facts about that part:
* 10.75% raise for teachers over 3 years ~= 3.6% per yr
* 10 extra mins/day ~= 4.6 extra days, which ~= 2.6% extra time per yr
(2/2) A raise of ~3.6% per year minus add’l time of ~2.6% is approx equal to 1% raise per year.
While not exact I hope it makes sense. @MayorGalvin neglects to mention added time on the news, but teacher pay is directly linked to time so it’s relevant!

If you’ve ever seen/attended a Woburn School Committee meeting you know how much ELECTED members love to get on the mic & talk about great things in @WoburnSchools but when @MayorGalvin says @WoburnTeachers “are replaceable”…
