Yesterday's sermon from @heathcummingssr out of the book of Jonah: open.substack.com/pub/sittin…
“Yours is the day, Yours also is the night; You have prepared the light and the sun. You have established all the boundaries of the earth; You have made summer and winter.”
Psalms 74:16-17
“But as for me, my prayer is to You,
O Lord, at an acceptable time;
O God, in the greatness of Your lovingkindness,
Answer me with Your saving truth.”
Psalms 69:13
Today is a great day to open your Bible if you haven't in a while.
Matthew 27
Mark 15
Luke 22:66-23:56
John 18:28-19:42
“Great and marvelous are your deeds, Lord God Almighty. Just and true are your ways, King of the nations. Who will not fear you, Lord, and bring glory to your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship before you, for your righteous acts have been revealed.”

On surrendering to God's global purpose:
Yesterday's sermon from @heathcummingssr out of the book of Jonah: open.substack.com/pub/sittin…
“Daniel said, “Let the name of God be blessed forever and ever, For wisdom and power belong to Him….
It is He who reveals the profound and hidden things; He knows what is in the darkness, And the light dwells with Him…
“For I take no pleasure in the death of anyone who dies,” declares the Lord God. “Therefore, repent and live!””
Ezekiel 18:32
“Pursue peace with all people, and the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.”
Hebrews 12:14
““Yet even now,” declares the Lord, “Return to Me with all your heart, And with fasting, weeping, and mourning…”
Short thread coming because this section from Proverb 26 always get me:
“A whip for the horse, a bridle for the donkey, and a rod for the backs of fools! Do not answer a fool according to his folly, or you yourself will be just like him…”
“Like an archer who wounds at random is one who hires a fool or any passer-by. As a dog returns to its vomit, so fools repeat their folly…”
Nine verses about the fool, none positive. We’re all nodding along. “Those fools…” Ready for the punchline?
