🚨 🎙️Jose Mourinho On the Death of Jesús de Miguel and incident that caused the death of the 30-year old CD Tenerife striker;
🗣️"Look, first of all, my heart goes out to the family of Jesús de Miguel, to the players, and to everyone connected with CD Tenerife. It is a tragedy that no one in football ever wants to see.
People call it an accident, and of course, nobody steps onto a football pitch wanting to take a man's life. But we must be honest. When you make a horrific, reckless action like that out in the middle of the pitch—completely unnecessary, flying in with that level of danger—you have to be held responsible for your actions.
In my career, I have defended my players when they play with aggression, when they play with character, but there is a clear line between intensity and endangering a colleague's safety. We cannot hide behind the word 'accident' when a decision on the pitch is completely out of control. A professional's life and career have been stolen away in a single second.
It is a very, very sad day for our sport. Rest in peace, Jesús. Our thoughts are with your family."

🚨 🎙️ Jesus Owono On the Death of Jesús de Miguel and the incident that caused the death of the 30-year old CD Tenerife striker;
🗣️ "I am completely devastated. Words cannot describe the heaviness in my chest and the pain I feel inside.
I want everyone to know, from the bottom of my heart, that it was never, ever intentional. In that split second, my only focus was the ball…I went for the ball, and I struck the ball. I never imagined, in my wildest nightmares, that a routine challenge could turn into such a tragedy. I feel so much pity and sorrow that this happened; it is something that could have and should have been avoided. I feel so terrible right now, carrying a weight that I don't know how to bear.
To his beloved family: I am so deeply sorry. Please find it in your hearts to forgive me. I never, ever knew or intended for this to lead to such a heartbreaking situation.
To all my brothers and teammates at CD Tenerife, and to everyone mourning him: please take heart, and let us hold his memory close. Rest in peace."
