For the people that aren’t in the trenches, you need to understand why the DOJ just arrested the founders of @SamouraiWallet They built the most cutting-edge privacy tools for Bitcoin, and they were close to launching an unstoppable decentralized version of their most effective tool. The DOJ charged them before they could launch it. And the charging indictment is an Orwellian nightmare of contradictions, non-definitions, and reality-bending fantasy to foul for fiction. To fully understand how well they designed their software, users that ran their own node are completely unaffected even after the DOJ seized all sites and services related to Samourai. The power of decentralization can’t be overstated. And it was the foundation of Satoshi’s vision; So long as two computers are running the software, it can live on. For the normies that say “I’m not doing anything illegal, so why should I care about privacy?” I noticed you don’t tell the internet every time you jerk off. I also noticed that you didn’t upload your W2. You never mentioned that you drove an extra 20 mins out of the way to burn a J before showing up to the family event. And you made a pseudonym to sign up for Only Fans. But with enough meta data any nosy entity can figure out you did those things. And it’s time for that to stop. We have full surveillance in every area of our lives. But the government appetite for complete control is insatiable. The users of Bitcoin is a hyper minority. Yet they can’t let the opportunity to build another spy network pass them by. So, this is it. It’s the last battlefront. If this is lost, there is no refuge. I do appreciate and respect the XMR community. But they will come after that too. Even if that means arresting regular users. The days of the dudebros saying “just use Monero” are over. We’re in this together. And if we lose, you’re next.
