When they said "You'll learn more your first year in practice than any other year of medicine," I didn't expect #COVID19 😳

A COVID-era program for universal free school lunches was dropped after Republicans balked at the cost. Now families are facing food bills and the squeeze of inflation — and some kids will suffer. "Regardless of income, there are children who are hungry." n.pr/3QTOkgC

Got the (logistically) worst of all consults on my third and last day of weekend call: patient was NPO for CT, has an abscess, but was allowed to eat immediately after CT. Now it’s a Monday add on…when I’m supposed to be off for the day!

By not teaching kids about racism, they can assume White people have more because they are more. Banning books on POC reinforces this assumption as it leads to kids seeing more White people in the curriculum. This isn’t protecting White kids. This is protecting racist education.

#BabyScalpel is 3 months old. I was able to extend my leave to 14 weeks and will be part time for the first few weeks. Fully aware that to my US tweeps, this is the peak of privilege…and to my international tweeps, probably appalling 😂

Things I didn’t expect about parenting #126: how many times a day I ask #BabyScalpel “are you done with the poops?” as though I expect them to answer 😂
