This is MoCo politicians.
Chris Rock just nailed one of the biggest problems with wokeness. Helping people who feel marginalized is good. He says so himself. The trouble starts when a good cause becomes an institution. The first few witches were real. Then you open a witch office. Now there are salaries, budgets and pensions to justify, and the office needs a steady supply of witches to keep existing. That’s the trap. Once a cause becomes a career, solving the problem means losing your job. So the problem never gets solved. It just keeps getting redefined. A system built to find wrongdoing will keep finding it, whether it’s there or not.

Sincerely, MoCo retweeted
The Maryland Democratic Party has lost its way, and that's ME saying it. Y'all run every single part of this state. The governor's office, the legislature, almost every county. And somehow every problem is still Washington's fault? Dude. You own the whole house and you're blaming the neighbors for the leaky roof. And you just admitted in this very post the amendment could have been written more simply. This is literally deciding who represents Marylanders in Congress and you need a law degree to understand it… you admit it should have been written better, so… So why WASN'T it? You had the pen. "Trust us, just this once" is what every politician, especially in Maryland, says right before the next once. Stop gaslighting Marylanders about who's in charge. You are. Fix the potholes, fix the MVA, fix what people pay just to live here, and write things in plain English. Until then, spare us the speeches and grandstanding. Maryland deserves better.
Replying to @JoshSeefried
I agree that the amendment language could/should have been written much more simply.

Empty seats with a budget issue = complete mismanagement of a system
🚨 MCPS SUPERINTENDENT APOLOGIZES TO TEACHERS, ADMITS GRADING IS TOO SOFT — WARNS OF MAJOR BUDGET CRISIS Montgomery County Public Schools Superintendent Thomas Taylor apologized Thursday for remarks that angered educators while acknowledging declining enrollment, inconsistent instruction and grading standards that need reform. ▪️ TEACHER BACKLASH: Taylor apologized for saying educators couldn’t do whatever they wanted, insisting his goal was instructional consistency. ▪️ SOFT GRADING: Taylor acknowledged that MCPS grading practices have become too lenient. A new work group will examine changes. ▪️ 16,700+ EMPTY SEATS: MCPS has approximately 11,000 unused elementary seats, 4,700 middle school seats and 1,000 high school seats. ▪️ BUDGET WARNING: Taylor anticipates one of the district’s most difficult budget years as declining birthrates reduce enrollment. ▪️ THIRD-GRADE RETENTION: Maryland’s new reading proficiency requirements are scheduled to begin next school year. ▪️ TEACHER RELIEF: Central administrators will assume responsibility for preparing certain instructional objectives, reducing paperwork. MCPS acknowledges soft grading, inconsistent instruction and thousands of empty seats. Before requesting more taxpayer funding, what measurable improvements will district leadership deliver? MoCo politicians have been doing this for years, just not as blatantly. They tax your tax dollars and deliver them to groups that will provide door knockers and activists at election time.
Restore Homeowners $692 ITOC Tax Credit before any other tax Credit packages to the groups that endorsed you. #BaitAndSwitch @MoCoCouncilMD.   bethesdamagazine.com/2026/10…

It’s the same story. We are gonna raise taxes and then give tax breaks to some. In the end we pay double.
Joining @cmkatestewart, @HabitatMM, and @CASHMD in advancing a package of tax credit bills that will help address the affordability crisis with meaningful relief for residents on low and fixed incomes, working parents and @MCPS employees. Let’s get them passed!

Why is @willjawando representing himself as county executive?
When democracy is under attack in Washington, Montgomery County feels the shockwaves first. That's why it's not enough for us to be a safe harbor. We must be the vanguard.

Like in MoCo where elected officials such as @EvanMGlass @Andrew_Friedson won’t call for a debate cause they will need @willjawando handouts soon
Democracy dies in darkness. The irony.

A gathering of a bunch of politicians is now “MoCo showing up”?
Montgomery County showed up for @willjawando yesterday — and I know as our next County Executive, he will show up for us. People from every corner of the county came together to support Will and hear his vision for our future — and it was great seeing him healthy and back at work. I was glad to be part of the program and share why I’m excited to see Will become Montgomery County's next County Executive. Will has been a tireless champion for people who too often get overlooked, and I look forward to working alongside him to deliver for the people of Montgomery County and across Maryland.
