A comforting interview with Ann Widdecombe on the subject of death: "Does death frighten you?" Ann: "No, I'll go to heaven and be with my mother, my father and my brother." That's exactly where she is. 🕊️

'I've shut down my socials today because I mustn't engage with that rubbish.' @theJeremyVine reacts to the 'beyond devastating' death of Ann Widdecombe and condemns the 'light-hearted' comments that have followed.

Excited to partner with #newfoundlanddiagnostics to promote the importance of self-testing. Their at-home tests detect issues even before symptoms appear, letting you monitor your health conveniently at home. NHS waiting times are high, so why not get instant results to share with your GP for faster, more informed care? Early detection means earlier treatment, better outcomes & can save lives. #AD #athometesting #accessiblehealthcare #earlyscreening

Important training for #JessRule Please share so all primary care colleagues have an opportunity to view and review. Thank you so much.
The response to our training video Jess’s Rule: What it means for primary care clinicians has been overwhelmingly positive. Thank you for all the proactive support. Please share jessicabradycedartrust.org.u… @jamesmurray_ldn @NHSEngland

Thank you so much @Simpson616 @MrsMcEgan @RichardRawcliff for your incredible support. Nearly there…
Following the launch of Jess’s Rule, we received requests from primary care clinicians seeking support and training. Since the New Year, our trustees have been working hard to develop that support. #JessRule #3strikesandwerethink

@wesstreeting you listened, you acted, you kept your word. Thank you. #JessRule Three Strikes and we Rethink for GPs. #earlydiagnosis #cancer #becurious
Jess Brady should be alive today. But, despite 20 appointments with her GP practice, her cancer was missed until she went private. She died at 27 with stage 4 cancer. Today Jess’s Rule will mean that, after three strikes, GPs must review and rethink👇🏻 dailymail.co.uk/debate/artic…

Please share so every GP in the country knows Jess’ story and feels supported to diagnose young people with cancer early enough. Thank you so much.
In February this year, Jessica Brady CEDAR Trust was proud to announce the launch of its first training module for GPs,
entitled Early Diagnosis of Cancer in Young Adults. This was devised by the RCGP with our support and funding. #cancer 🧵1/4

Isobel was due to share her story just last week for Teenage and Young Adult Cancer Awareness Month. Sadly, we received the devastating news she died in her sleep on Wednesday 2 April, after two years of cancer treatment. Isobel was passionate about raising awareness of what it’s like to be a young person with cancer and to offer advice to other young people. Her mother has asked us to honour her wish and continue to share her voice. You can read Isobel's story for #TYACAM here: ow.ly/f5Pq50VvOGF

Very few people realise that the vast majority of hospice and palliative care is provided by charity - not by the NHS. I think this is a national scandal. Please RT if you do too 🙏
In this interview with @skynewsniall, Dr Rachel Clarke (@doctor_oxford) emphasises the need to prioritise quality end of life care. Regardless of Parliament's decision on assisted dying, fixing the funding of our struggling hospice and end of life care system is essential.

I’m the world’s shittest runner and it hurts a lot but I’m getting fit for climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and I’m trying hard! And I couldn’t walk at one point so LOOK HOW FAR WE’VE COME! I’m going to keep doing shout outs for my Kilimanjaro challenge which I will be doing at the end of this year to raise funds for @bowelsofstmarks who gave me last option of surviving my stage 4 recurrent cancer. St Mark’s Hospital Foundation raises vital funds for research, education and innovation at St Mark’s, the UK’s national bowel hospital. It’s an epic challenge as I am missing all but one of my pelvic organs, part of my spine, spinal nerves, part of my pelvis bone, I have a stoma (for my 💩) and I self catheterise to empty my bladder as my bladder and ureter were operated on too. I don’t have feeling in a lot of my left leg due to the spinal nerves that were removed but I’m incredibly lucky to have the use of my left foot which we weren’t sure I would have. My climbing buddy Scarlett and I have booked on for a mega practice walk this summer and looking to book on to a night hike too. We are determined to succeed in our challenge despite the physical challenges we face. The link is in my bio if you’d like to donate. I’ve reached 25% of the target already which is so great. If you are able to donate even £1, together it can all make such a difference to help people with debilitating and life threatening bowel disease. I’d be long gone if it wasn’t for the complex cancer clinic at St Marks taking on my case, I’m eternally grateful that they took at chance on me… so please join me in raising money for them. And thank you so much for the donations so far, I read every name and every message and I ADORE YOU! ♥️ #linkinbio #stmarkshospitalfoundation #pelvicexenteration #complexcancer #stage4survivor
