Jesus Christ is always at the centre of Christmas. And everyone's invited to experience it with us.
Come and celebrate Christmas at a church near you.

“the use of Christianity as a cultural dividing line has been aptly characterised as “Christianism” – an aggressive and exclusionary assertion of “belonging” that need not have any connection with actual religious belief….the Church of England….must explore ways to assert itself against such perversions of the gospel message of inclusion and compassion for the stranger.”
Good to see the ecumenical and interfaith of our own Bishop of Edmonton @TheOutsider40 Anderson Jeremiah being cited as a what is needed.

Yaxley-Lennon’s appropriation of Jesus Christ is equivalent to nailing Him back to the cross.
This is not Christianity - it is violent pagan-influenced hate. Christ is present in those they trample underfoot.

It was wonderful to have @bishopSarahM preside and preach at our regular Monday Eucharist in the chapel at Fulham Palace, with the encouragement, as we celebrated St. Clare, to find those habits which help us go on making a home with God in our lives daily.

Good Friday. That Jesus died for us means that the God who breathed 2 trillion galaxies into existence, also looks at little old you and me and thinks ‘I will pay the highest price to be with them forever’. Whatever you think of yourself today, you matter. Will you respond..?

Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. We must remember that it did not start from gas chambers.
This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.
Auschwitz took time.

ALT A bird's-eye view of a former Auschwitz II-Birkenau camp showing a wide dirt pathway flanked by parallel rows of barbed-wire fences. Groups of visitors walk along the path, surrounded by the remnants of brick structures and barracks, now reduced to foundations. Green grass contrasts with the somber history of the site, as the path leads toward a guard tower in the distance.

Let us forcefully reaffirm today that the seeds of anti-Semitism must never again be allowed to take root in the human heart. Remembering the suffering and tears of the victims of the Holocaust, let us repeat: never again!

This is the task of the Church over the next 4 years - speaking truth to power on behalf of our marginalized neighbours regardless of the blowback. ✊🏽

When you worship power, a sermon on the love and mercy of Jesus sounds like “spewing hate.”

If your Christianity causes you to be offended by someone asking the most powerful person in the country to be merciful towards the powerless, then you have deeply, deeply misunderstood the teachings of Jesus Christ.
