What happened at the soundcheck today is unacceptable, and we strongly condemn these acts! From the live streams, fans reported objects being thrown toward Taehyung during soundcheck, parts of the crowd refusing to sing his lines, booing, and cameras being deliberately panned away whenever he appeared during the concert. There are also claims of a person carrying an acid bottle being removed from the venue. This is not fandom. This is harassment and a safety issue. For months, there have been online threats, including acid attack threats, directed at Taehyung, many linked to extreme Jikook shippers. Security had already been tightened at previous LatAm dates because of these threats. Anyone who downplayed them should be watching the reports coming out of São Paulo right now. Throwing objects at performers is dangerous. Booing a member of the group you claim to support is spiteful. Fantasising about harming an artist because he doesn’t fit your shipping narrative is unhinged. Taehyung is a real person on stage performing for you.. NOT a character in a toxic fanfiction. He has done nothing to deserve physical threats or coordinated disrespect. Shipping is not an excuse for violence or cruelty. If your “support” for Jimin and Jungkook requires attacking their bandmate, you are NOT a fan. YOU ARE A PROBLEM! HYBE and Live Nation already took some measures by canceling the Idol Walk, but security clearly needs to be made much stricter. Disrespect, threats, and attempts to harm an artist have no place at these concerts. Full stop. #ProtectTaehyung
