I’ve had these in my possession for a while & can’t reconcile how DEEPLY troubled I am that gov paid SO MANY PPL SO MUCH 💰 to promote COVID vax (etc) & it wasn’t disclosed to the public.
A cool 😎 $17k to a bunch of randos for posting gov-sponsored propaganda:

Well after going through most of the content of the leak, I feel pretty confident in the advice I've given recently:
To do better at SEO, focus less on SEO and more on other channels.
Basically SEO is not the discovery engine it once was, it's more of a feedback loop for how well you're doing overall with your online presence.
I guess it makes building an audience on platforms that don't drive traffic worth it if you can indirectly benefit from search traffic on the other end.
For example, cjeatsrecipes .com has been winning the updates big time, probably thanks to his million Instagram and TikTok followers and how they behave in search.
Clearly there are some weird outliers though like:
- Font size matters 🤨
- Google flags review and small sites 🤔
- Link velocity matters 📈
- HCU is called baby panda internally 🐼
I'm curious to hear what you guys think.

I’m not against removing low quality sites from search.
But I find it amusing that Google is giving 2 months to large publications to remove spam from their sites.
For small businesses they deindex them overnight.
If this isn’t double standards I don’t know what is.

ChatGPT "Project Sunshine" is ChatGPT with Memory & New GPT Store Layout
ChatGPT's "Project Sunshine," which was initially discovered in August 2023 as a version of ChatGPT with special capabilities, is actually ChatGPT with Memory.
The current version of ChatGPT features a new "Personalization" section in its settings:
```
Improve responses with your chats
Your GPT will continually improve as you chat, picking up on details and preferences to tailor its responses to you. Learn more
To modify what your GPT knows or teach it something new, just tell it:
“What do you know about me?”
“Where did we leave off on my last project?”
“Remember that I like concise responses.”
```
This section includes options to turn the feature on or off and to "Reset Memory."
The current status of personalization is also displayed as "Memory Off" on the dashboard, indicating that "ChatGPT won't remember anything you talk about in this conversation."
Additionally, the new ChatGPT with Memory feature is introduced via a new popup:
```
Your GPT can now learn from your chats
Keep the conversation going
Your GPT will carry what it learns between chats, allowing it to provide more relevant responses.
Improves over time
As you chat your GPT will become more helpful, remembering details and preferences.
Manage what it remembers
Your GPT has been designed to follow your instructions in chats. You can reset your GPT's memory or turn this feature off in settings.
```
The previously mentioned "Temporary Chat" is now visible in the model selector (however, it appears to be a bit buggy) and alters the style of the prompt text input, similar to the existing "Chat history & training" on/off option in Settings.
"Temporary Chat" also has its own announcement popup explaining its functionality:
```
Temporary Chat
Not in history
Temporary Chats won't appear in your history, and your GPT won't remember anything you talk about. We may still keep a copy for up to 30 days for safety purposes.
Blank slate
Your GPT won't be aware of previous conversations. It will still follow your custom instructions if they're enabled.
No model training
Temporary Chats won't be used to improve our models.
```
Moreover, the GPT Store has received an update as it approaches its launch, featuring a prominent header, search bar, and lists of My GPTs, Recently Used, Made by OpenAI, and possibly Featured & Top GPTs soon.

If you build deep relationships with insecure people, they’ll manipulate and try to control you.
You must keep your end of the bargain (be dependable, respectful, morally sound) to build trust and give them reason to feel secure, but some people have too much past trauma to actually feel accepted.
Cut them out before they bring you down with them.
The hard part:
You have to be a very secure person yourself to have the courage to do this.

A major shake-up is coming to Google's search results.
Google is bringing generative AI to Search with a host of new features – both exciting and worthy of concern.
One screenshot from the event that caught my eye was an example shown for the query "plants for a dark dorm room".
Currently, Google will show a featured snippet for a website at the top, with 10-blue-links below. But that's about to change for *some* queries.
Based on my understanding, the use of generative AI in Search is primarily for queries categorised as NORA (No One Right Answer). This is an acronym you should remember.
For this search term, I would expect that the answer would vary. This means Google could be giving too much weighting to the featured snippet, which may leave out important results.
In comes generative AI. There are 6 changes highlighted in the image to be aware of.
Ranging from most to least important, here's what each of the changes involve:
1. Featured Snippet Removal
This is the most significant and jarring change of the lot. Not having a featured snippet means that the top article no longer gets the visibility it once received. Instead, the AI generates its own list with descriptions and imagery.
2. Top 3 Links
On desktop, the top 3 articles are presented in the righthand column. This could be a combination of the previous featured snippet and the top 2 10-blue-link pages.
3. 'Coverse' Tab
When exposed to the experimental generative AI (you'll need to join the waitlist - thoughtful.sandbox.google.co… - use a VPN for the US if not located there), the 'All' tab will be replaced with 'Converse'.
4. Conversational Prompts
Similar to Bing, there is the inclusion of prompts to then enter conversational mode. This is where the ChatGPT-equivalent experience begins, where users can enter a similar UI to Bard.
5. 10-Blue-Links
Below the generative AI, the 10-blue-links remain as they always have. This is an aspect of ChatGPT that is missing, so should still be considered as an opportunity to publishers with the way that searcher behaviour has changed. Google also looks to be proposing bold titles, along with other changes to text styling/positioning.
6. Tailwind Icon
The Tailwind icon at the top is what signifies that generative AI is enabled for the user. Shortly, Google will be sending out invites to test out the new features. As mentioned, if you get the invite and want to test it out but are located outside of the US, a VPN should do the trick.
As an overall opinion of the current state of Search, I'm more excited than concerned. Google has clearly not been satisfying users for some queries, which has led to the uprise of ChatGPT. As long as Google prioritises publishers (which they say they are), this could lead to more traffic opportunities.
As always, I'll be documenting changes as they arise, so make sure to follow along and I'll keep you in the loop.
