This week @elonmusk challenged the industry and @bscholl @boomsupersonic delivered. On Tuesday’s $SPCX earnings call, Elon talked about how to quicken the pace to get power up and running: “Casting is the real bottleneck. And if anything, it seems to be getting worse. So that means that SpaceX can bring power on line 12 to 18 months faster than anyone else. That's the kind of advantage that's difficult to replicate unless someone else is doing advanced casting". Today, Boom announced the world's first all-digital foundry to cast single crystal turbine blades and vanes. Congrats to Blake and the Boom team on the huge milestone. We’re thrilled to be investors in both @boomsupersonic and @SpaceX, solving AI’s biggest bottleneck and reindustrializing America.

Well well @deeptechweek has wrapped for 2026 It was a fun experiment to see how much I could grow it this year - went from 2 to 7 cities, averaging around 3k attendees per city and ~28 events per week. It went from a 'once in a while passion project' to a 'rapidly growing profitable business' I'll be adding another 5-6 cities next year, each a recurring annual event. 3 in the US and a couple more international. San Diego, Boston, Bangalore, Tokyo, Sydney, Paris, Zurich, Denver, are all candidates. Overall theres been 65k attendees, 9,400 founders, 5,500 investors and 8,000 engineers and scientists. I think this makes it credibly the largest deep tech startup community on the planet, and, I think I can double it in 2027. I will write up some thoughts on how I see the deep tech ecosystem evolving and what comes next! And I'll start building out some more mcp surface area so attendees and hosts can fully leverage the social graph backend to find customers, investors, cofounders, startups, and so on. Also theres like a hundred hours of recorded talks going up within the next week. I think this is a reasonable "first product" for @hyperstition_x, there are two more in the works, more in the realm of sci-fi.

Lots of VCs kindof sound like this: "Your basketball team doesn't have a moat, any healthy human can throw the ball into the basket thingy. " People who have not run companies before don't understand how much the team matters more than some imagined structural moat.

for the record, this is how the chinese government thought about jack ma, and why it ultimately destroyed him. there is really no philosophical difference between our hard left and their hard left. and the only practical difference is their hard left's in power.
The reason to threaten Musk is to terrify anyone who would even think of opposing these people. If they can take out the world's richest man and our greatest contemporary industrialist, then just think what they can do to you and to the average Jane and Joe. We must stop them.

no crime needed to put someone in prison
amazing how they don’t even pretend elon committed a crime, because they know it doesn’t matter if he did. they’ll find something. the point is just they really hate him, and when democrats really hate someone he belongs in prison.

A hundred years ago, if your kid got diabetes, the doctor's plan was to starve them. 400 calories a day. Some weeks, nothing at all. It sounds insane but there was a grim logic behind it. Type 1 diabetes killed children within months back then, and less food meant less sugar in the blood, which slowed the dying. Kids on the diet stopped dying of diabetes and died of starvation instead, just slower. Parents signed up anyway because one extra year with their child was the best medicine could offer. Elizabeth Hughes was the daughter of the US Secretary of State, so she got the best care money could buy. That care took her from 75 pounds at diagnosis down to 45 pounds by age 14. When her mother brought her to Toronto in August 1922, she could barely walk. The treatment waiting there almost never got made. Frederick Banting was a small-town surgeon whose practice was failing so badly he was nearly broke. He talked a university into lending him a lab for one summer, and with a 21-year-old student assisting, isolated the pancreatic hormone researchers had chased for 30 years. Five weeks after her first shot, Elizabeth was eating 2,500 calories a day with a pint of cream poured on top. She gained 60 pounds in four and a half months. She went to Barnard, raised a family, lived to 73, and kept the diabetes secret from almost everyone she knew. Banting refused to put his name on the patent. He'd sworn the Hippocratic oath and believed a doctor had no business profiting from something like this. His co-discoverers sold it to the University of Toronto for a dollar. "Insulin does not belong to me, it belongs to the world." 24 months from first injection to the Nobel Prize, and every diabetic kid on earth went from a death sentence to a normal life for the price of one dollar.
In 1922, this little girl was wasting away from type 1 diabetes. Four months after doctors gave her a new experimental drug called insulin, she looked like a different child.
