Bjorn Lomborg did not deny climate change, but treated it as one problem among many.
The past 20 years vindicate his position: emissions are rising more slowly than feared, disaster deaths have fallen, and poverty remains a more acute threat than climate.

When the BBC interviews someone as well-informed
and intelligent as Douglas Murray, they should find someone well-informed and intelligent to do it
Not some clown like this
He is very stupid
But perhaps the BBC hadn't noticed

The cheap green lie
You are told that solar and wind are cheap
But cramming in more solar and wind just makes power more and more costly
because solar and wind are worthless when not sunny and windy

Global oil, gas & coal consumption hit record highs in 2023. 2024 was also likely a record high, but no official data yet. New renewables didn't even match global energy increase in 2023. Fossil fuels are not being replaced. The UK however, has chosen to impoverish itself.

Lazard is fine @deeperdriller @ecobuildera @tlanderso
You just have to understand their data & be sure to include the base load balancing/backup costs.
Then, it's clear that natural gas is cheaper than wind & solar. Wind is cheaper than solar.
All are cheaper than nuclear.

What’s up with the @BBCWorld? Do they have a mandate for the truth or are they a propaganda outlet? The BBC headline:
Five Gaza Journalists Killed by Israeli Strike
xitter.cf/bbcworld/status/187222…
The IDF details the positions of five Palestinian Islamic Jihad operatives killed in an airstrike overnight in central Gaza's Nuseirat.
The military says the five terror operatives were "posing as journalists." The Palestinian TV channel Al-Quds Today, which is affiliated with Islamic Jihad, identified those killed in the airstrike as its staffers.
The military says the strike killed Ibrahim Jamal Ibrahim al-Sheikh Ali, an operations officer and involved in Islamic Jihad's combat propaganda; Faisal Abdallah Muhammad Abu Qamsan, head of Islamic Jihad's security in Nuseirat; Mohammed Ayad Khamis al-Lada’a, involved in Islamic Jihad's combat propaganda; Ayman Nihad Abd Alrahman Jadi, involved in Islamic Jihad's combat propaganda, and a former member of the terror group's naval force; and Fadi Ihab Muhammad Ramadan Hassouna, also involved in Islamic Jihad's combat propaganda.
According to the IDF, "intelligence from multiple sources confirmed that these individuals were Islamic Jihad operatives posing as journalists."
The military says one of the sources was a list of Islamic Jihad operatives that was captured by troops in Gaza. "This list explicitly identified four of the eliminated individuals as members of the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization," the army says.
The IDF says it took steps to mitigate civilian harm in the strike.

Renewables are a total failure @ecobuildera
They are a zero-rounding error & have done nothing to change the advance of climate change.
Civilization would collapse if it had to run on renewables.
People will look back on renewables as the biggest scam in modern history.

Why Americans don't want EVs:
"President Biden and his bureaucrats are scratching their heads, wondering why their constituents still cling to their gas-powered cars. But the reasons are clear. Electric cars are inferior products. They are also bad for the environment and damaging to the economy in hidden ways that their biggest cheerleaders have not been honest about." - @ISAACforEnergy 💯

Environmental groups celebrating the Biden administration's absurd decision to pause approvals on new LNG export terminals reveal themselves to be anything but real stewards of the environment. Liquefied natural gas is an exponentially cleaner fuel than coal and crude, and any government suppression of its supply and distribution will only result in the substitute use of another fossil fuel. BUT, it also will lead to higher prices of LNG, which attracts more production as the profit incentive grows. These people are not merely environmental dunces but economic ones as well.
But here's the thing. To hear some say they support Ukraine (as I do) because they believe Putin is a danger (as I do) and then turn around and undermine the single greatest threat to him and other global bad actors on the planet (export LNG from the U.S. undermining dependence on bad actor oil and gas) makes them foreign policy hypocrites, as well.
A trifecta of virtue-signaling ignorance. Export LNG is an environmental, economic, and geopolitical winner. The Biden administration is acting pro-Trump more and more by the day, because stuff like this is why Biden can lose.

2) Even though Earth has gotten 1°C warmer in the last century, deaths from cold outnumber deaths from heat by 5-15x. Cold is more dangerous than heat on every continent. Even in especially hot countries such as India, cold-related deaths significantly exceed heat-related deaths.
