Being a Governor is as challenging as it is important. The people who run our jails are special, doing a job most of us could not, and would not want to - because they want to make a difference. This #hiddenheroesday don’t forget they are #hiddenheroes too russellwebster.com/the-healt…
While people on probation is better than offender, with its negative overtones, or service user, which just never felt right, I feel very uncomfortable about it being shortened to PoPs. It sounds belittling and dehumanising, the opposite of what’s intended. Or is it just me?

Last summer people working in UK prisons, probation and youth justice raised almost £70k in the #HiddenHeroes #CharityChallenge. What will you do this year, and what cause will you support? There’s a prize for whoever raises the most!

Nominations are now open for this year’s Butler Trust Awards! The Awards help give credit where it’s due to those #HiddenHeroes who go above and beyond in their work – and just being nominated shows someone’s efforts have not gone unnoticed.
