I've had many people reach out to me to say that they think my book, Desert Pearl, would make a great movie. What an honor that would be. I admit that I find it far-fetched that anyone would like my book and my story enough to make it into a film. I've always had severe imposter syndrome, and I just don't feel good enough. Never have. The reviews you have already sent in on Amazon give me a shot of confidence, though, and I'd like to try. I've researched how to get my title out there, and it seems that the best way to appeal to the film industry is to show them numbers — sales and quality reviews. I've shared several reviews that have touched me. I am extremely grateful for every one I have received, whether I have posted it here or not. I'm humbly asking you for more. You've already given me so much — time, energy, and prayers — and I feel sheepish asking for more. But if you have time to leave a good review of the book on Amazon, it would help make this dream a reality. What would a film do? Much more than I could ever accomplish with the book. It could shine a light on what is happening in this country for families like mine and @JenniferEvn22's, and for dogs like Hachi, Lucy, Atlas, Snuggles, and Major, to name a few. It could lead to a foundation, grassroots efforts to change laws, and positive change. We have the makings of all that, right here, in the people who will like or comment on this post. We have the skills, the knowledge, and the drive. Closer to home, it could make sure that Lucy stays safe from those who still have her in their crosshairs, and that would mean the world to me. Animal welfare is the law, and we are enforcing it. 🐾🇺🇸 @SecKennedy and I brought together partners from @USDA, @HHSGov, the @TheJusticeDept, @EPA, and @LaraLeaTrump to strengthen enforcement and protect dogs. This year, USDA has inspected more than 2,000 dog breeder and broker facilities, trained 98 inspectors, and created a new Animal Protection Bureau to improve compliance and address violations. HHS has launched more than 20 initiatives to reduce unnecessary animal testing and advance human-based research methods. I want to give a special thank you to Lauree Simmons, @BDRRescue, and other organizations who champion this important effort. @POTUS’s administration will continue to fight for animal welfare, or as Bobby said: we’re going to Make America Humane Again.
