If you didn’t see @BrainyMariam at #RSA2023 @RSAposts then you missed out on great science from an amazing trainee and a future leader in the field. Luckily this will not be Mariam’s last RSA ever as she has a post doc at niaaa starting in January. Keep an eye on this superstar!
My last #RSA2023 as a graduate student was a huge success! Thank you @SilbermanLab for the opportunity to give my first talk at a national conference and for supporting me throughout my journey! @RSAposts

Read my 🔥rant about Evaluation Letters and why we should GET RID OF THEM. I argue that by relying on promotion letters academia generates pleasers, playing-it-safe, unoriginal, cookie-cutter scientists. Please share and tell me what you think! @NatRevMCB nature.com/articles/s41580-0…

Eberly researcher @nicoleacrowley has been awarded a five-year $1.6 million grant from @NIAAAnews, part of @NIH, to study the neurobiology of binge alcohol drinking. buff.ly/3IwgdYB @PennStateBio @PennStateBME @huckinstitutes @BBRFoundation
One of the most rewarding aspects of #RSA2022 was the opportunity to connect with first-time RSAers. New trainees have had many challenges to network and integrate into the field during the past few year. Introducing some of them here (plz follow and say hi when you see them) 👇

Happy to share that the Azevedo Lab will be opening summer 2022 @neuro_MUSC ! We will be studying how emotional experiences shape feeding behavior and the neural basis of eating disorders. We will also be recruiting a research assistant to start in the fall! Stay tuned!
Dr. Estefania Azevedo (from Jeff Friedman's lab at Rockefeller University) will be joining us this summer as a new tenure-track assistant professor and MUSC Neuroscience Scholar!! Super excited about her cutting-edge research on feeding circuits, stress, & eating disorders. 🙌
