He told him of his family’s pahul tradition, and of how, as a young adult, he had gone and taken initiation at the holy seat of the Khalsa, Takht Kesgarh Sahib. He explained his full dedication to Sikhism and its principles, and asked whether he might take it again to prove his conviction. Giani Gurmukh Singh replied that he had committed no transgression and had observed his rehat, so there was no need. Eventually the Akali Dal was convinced, and their candidate, Rai Bahadur Sardar Basakha Singh, withdrew, leaving Kishan Singh the winner of the Sikh reserved seat. This shows that he never saw himself as a member of the Hindu cult, but as a devout Sikh.

Furthermore, after the 1937 general election the Indian National Congress put forward Bhagat S. Sandhu’s father, Kishan Singh, as its candidate from Amritsar Central Rural, the Sikh reserved seat in Amritsar. Although Kishan Singh had abandoned the Hinduism of the Arya Samaj, which his father had imposed on him, and returned to the Khalsa Sikh fold, the Akali Dal, which contested that seat, opposed his nomination. Sikhs saw him as a Hindu, and therefore as undeserving, by law, of a Sikh reserved seat. According to Kartar Singh Duggal’s biography of Giani Gurmukh Singh Musafir, Congress politician and Jathedar of the Akal Takht, Kishan Singh sought Musafir’s aid in the matter.

- From Pir Muhammad's Chatthia di Vär,
a late eighteenth-century Punjabi ballad on the Chattha-Sukerchakia conflict, chiefly between Gulam Muhammad Chattha and Mahã Singh Sukerchakia, in the Gujranwala-Rasulnagar region of the Rechna Doab.
The guy in OP’s video isn’t “izzat farming.” He’s literally just an old guy having to repeatedly explain something to an annoying kid, remaining relaxed and unbothered while doing so which boggles the minds of high-strung neurotics who have fell victim to the “izzat” brainworm.
A guy like this trying izzat farming me at the store a few days ago, sliding to the front of the line and banking on the hope that I would be too polite to call him out. When I told him to go to the back, he played the "confused immigrant" act, but his smirk gave him away. He knew exactly what he was doing.
This is the classic tactic of the interloper. They feign stupidity to exploit the host. It is a calculated, parasitic maneuver designed to test the limits of our patience. They treat our social order as a target to be raided, operating on the assumption that our civility is a form of weakness they can bypass at will. By feigning ignorance, he attempts to neutralize your response, banking on the fact that we will hesitate to make a scene.
Do not be fooled. This is not a misunderstanding; it is a probe of our sovereignty. Every instance of this requires an immediate and aggressive reassertion of boundaries. When you allow the transgression, you are inviting the conquest of our commons. When you assert yourself, you break his theater of incompetence. Treat their feigned stupidity with the contempt it deserves and enforce your right to the space. Make them know that their games of exploitation will fail here.
This does not mean that plenty of Indians in the West are not engaged in scam-like behavior *nor does it mean that Indian culture generally can’t be blamed for this*. A lack of honor and scruple is endemic to much of Indian culture (and is what Sikhi provides an antidote to).
Interesting that this “rightwing” DOJ has adopted the “disparate impact=intentional discrimination” argument of the left.
The kicker here is these numbers actually don’t even show a disparate impact *because different racial groups score differently on average*
Thread:
DOJ quotes Berkeley Law Dean Erwin Chemerinsky in its Findings Letter:
“What colleges and universities will need to do after affirmative action is eliminated is find ways to achieve diversity that can’t be documented as violating the Constitution.”
Here are the median LSAT scores of students admitted to Berkeley Law separated by race:
The more relevant comparison is this: what is the *overall* racial breakdown of LSAT testers who test between 169 and 171 compared to the racial breakdown of Berkeley Law’s admits who tested between 169 and 171?
