WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A QUEER HUMXN RIGHTS DEFENDER It is not a title you apply for. It is something you become (slowly or suddenly) when your existence and the existence of others like you are worth fighting for, even when the systems meant to protect you look the other way.

Immigration, refugees, military conscription, death penalty etc … are NOT municipal functions. These wannabe politicians and right wing bullies are misleading you. 🤥 Make your vote count. Don’t let misinformation feed your fears. #marchandmarch #Election2026

Did you ever hear the tragedy of Imam Muhsin the Gay? I thought not. It's not a story the media would tell you. It’s an Islamic legend. Muhsin Hendricks was an imam so compassionate and so wise he believed he could fight homophobia with the Quran. He had such a knowledge of Islam he could challenge those who claimed Islam and homosexuality could not coexist. He became a sanctuary for gay Muslims rejected by their communities eveywhere. He was so devoted to protecting others... the only thing he was afraid of was that they would not find a place in the faith he loved. Unfortunately, he shared his vision of tolerence with his fellow Muslims, who shot him in South Africa in 2025. Ironic. He spent his life creating safe spaces for others, but could not save himself.

Within 2 months, 9 women have been found dead in Ekurhuleni. But because femicide is not recognised as an independent crime, the SAPS won’t call it what it is. Call on the South African government to codify femicide as an independent crime. amnesty.org.za/action/call-i…

Watch: Phakelumthakathi and his Zimbabwean partner are confronted by investigative journalists from Devi. In the episode titled "Becky Casting," which aired on 14 July 2024, Phakelumthakathi can be seen in the tents giving tutorials to desperate job seekers on camping living. The pair are confronted about luring and scamming desperate, unemployed, and vulnerable Black South African youth. The youngsters were human trafficked to an open field, where they were forced to sleep in tents, share toilets, and drink water from the river. The group of young hopefuls were ultimately never employed. 💔

Multiple sources have confirmed that Major-General Firoz Khan from Crime Intellegence and Major-General Ebrahim Kadwa have been arrested. It’s believed they face the same charges. Police released this statement: TWO SENIOR OFFICERS AND A CIVILLIAN ARRESTED: The South African Police Service (SAPS) confirms the arrest of two senior officers and a civilian allegedly linked to the illegal dealing and unlawful possession of precious metals following an intensive investigation by the Gauteng Counter Intelligence Operations (GCI-OPS). The suspects, were arrested following investigations into allegations of illicit precious metals transactions, corruption and related offences. The arrests were effected over the weekend by the team who executed a J50 warrant of arrest. These arrests form part of ongoing efforts by law enforcement to dismantle criminal networks involved in the illicit trade of precious minerals and corruption. The suspects are expected to appear before the Kempton Park Magistrate's Court on Monday facing charges that may include the unlawful dealing in precious metals, defeating the ends of justice, corruption and contravention of applicable legislation regulating precious metals in South Africa. @HeidiGiokos @pule_jones Tune into @eNCA DSTV 403 for more.
