Since nobody else is going to say it, I’ll bite. As a woman in tech, I don’t want to be working in a professional working environment where T-shirts like this are allowed. There’s no women in this room at all. Spaces where women are welcome are being reduced so much, it’s hard to accept. #womenintech Misogyny is often blunt and thoughtless as well as directly offensive. It shows up when people don’t take women as seriously as men. So we are reduced to our bodies and sexual utility, again and again.

Flash gets a lot of shit, but man did it ever make animation accessible. There's like an entire generation that grew up into designers, animators and graphics artists that started out dicking around in a pirated copy of Flash as teenagers.
Today in 1990s web development... Macromedia Flash 4.0! 🤓✨ After consulting the included docs, I learned that "shape tweening" was how you got that iconic morphing effect. I made this spicy 10fps animation to show off my new skills, and then loaded it into a web page using the EMBED element! 😅 Of course, I also had to install the Flash plugin for Netscape. Unlike Java, Flash didn't come preinstalled with the browser.

So presumably these are changing to `x:card`, `x:site`...etc. at some point? What a stupid, stupid rebrand...

The best minds of my generation are thinking about how to install Python.
What is "the right way" to install Python on a new M2 MacBook? I assume it isn't the system Python3 right? Maybe Homebrew?

Just about every SPA I've ever used could use a lot less <Button>, and a lot more <Link>. I'm not talking about pathname routing either. A vast majority of the time, the state you're about to manage belongs in the URL and I'd wager you're not putting it there because either you didn't know you could/should or your URL/Routing tools don't care about state management enough to help you manage it properly. It should be as easy as: <Link search={prev => ({ ...prev, sortDesc: !prev.sortDesc })} /> - Should NOT require me to pass/concatenate paths, use URLSearchParams 🤢, or devolve into single-level string/string key-value nonsense. - Should completely hide serialization/deserialization - Should generate a valid a href that you can command click - Should handle deeply structure JSON, including structural sharing to appease React's "reactivity" 😝 - Should be type-safe in context of your current relative route. - Should have matching "active" options powerful enough to handle more than "this path starts/ends with this path" - Should provide the *same* great expectations via imperative means e.g. navigate({ search: prev => {...} })

Ballmer promoting Windows 1.0 is amazing. You could swap this in as Tim & Eric sketch as-is. 10/10, no notes

Even if you shut off white balance, most of the pictures I see aren't selling how orange the sky is, because there's no frame of reference. Here's a 6500k display with an image we all recognize, for a more relative perspective. The color science isn't perfect, but close enough.
