These passions can dominate their thinking and play for a time… and may even feel a little obsessive. But rest assured they are completely normal - and likely beneficial. Research suggests that they not only enhance perseverance, but improve attention and can improve complex thinking. So roll them! Whether it’s ducks or dinosaurs or horses… you name it… it can be great fun to watch your child develop as a subject matter expert. Young Riley, dressed as a duck, can’t get to the waterfront fast enough to introduce herself to her fellow water fowl. I could watch this video, posted to TT by rileykscott, a million times. Too sweet.
