We closed out UN Week with a warm evening in New York, cohosted with @MoCTI_SL last Friday.
Our founder @realyanxin joined Chief Minister @dsengeh, Minister @SalimaMBah, Ambassador Dr. Abu Bakarr Karim, @ChristexFndn founder @c_ogoo, and many friends to reflect on our journey together and share what comes next.
We and Sierra Leone are thinking much bigger.
Stablecoins already move value globally. The next step is bringing local currencies onto rails people already use.
That means settlement, wallets, liquidity, exchanges and payments all working together.
@Sign’s sovereign stablecoin framework shows how public networks like BNB Chain can provide that distribution layer while governments keep control of the currency.

Why are governments talking about sovereign stablecoins now?
Three signals are converging:
→ Cross-border payments are still expensive
→ Dollar stablecoins move globally, but local currency access remains fragmented
→ Digital reach is growing faster than banking access
@Sign’s sovereign stablecoin framework breaks down what’s driving the shift.

A sovereign stablecoin is only useful if people and institutions can actually hold, move and use it.
At @EASYResidency, @nina_rong shared how public networks like BNB Chain can provide settlement and distribution, while governments and regulated institutions keep control over issuance, reserves and supervision.
KGST, the national stablecoin in Kyrgyzstan, takes this approach from theory to a working system.
Public authorities set the rules. Local financial institutions hold the reserves and handle fiat. Sign provides the infrastructure that connects the parts. BNB Chain provides the public settlement layer.
It is not a blueprint for every country, but a working model for countries considering their own sovereign stablecoin.
A stablecoin like this needs reserves, redemption, and oversight. Someone must be accountable for each. So who decides, and who executes?
Public authorities set the mandate, including issuer standards, reserve and redemption requirements, and supervision. Licensed institutions and infrastructure partners build and operate within that framework.
Sovereignty means retaining control over the rules, not building every component yourself.
At Sign, we believe digital assets, identity, and sovereign digital infrastructure should be built on transparent and interoperable foundations.
We look forward to helping advance the next generation of digital trust infrastructure.
