It’s always a shame when a product that many love is just taken away from them.
The 4 years we built @SigmaOS, arc was truly the only competitor that could keep up and even push us at points in terms of delivering a fresh new browser experience that is more delightful and less ad-driven.
had a great time competing @nateparrott and @joshm
The past week i started working on SigmaOS from scratch, just as something I really wanted for myself. Fresh code, fresh stack, fresh everything.
And i want to release it to everyone in the next couple weeks
I’ll be doing my best to bring together the best of the two iconic browsers of the 2020 browser wars together in one harmonious experience. The best of both worlds, and it’ll be my love letter to two products that changed the experience of browsing.
Fresh product, fresh name!
And btw it’ll be fully open source!
so let me know what you’d like to see 🌐
We've decided to sunset Arc on December 22, 2026.
That's not an easy sentence to write. We spent years building Arc and celebrating each and every release along the way: we have so much pride and love for what we made alongside the Arc community.
Our priority is to deliver best-in-class security for our members. Keeping a browser secure takes constant, dedicated work that is only increasing in the age of AI. Dia was built from the ground up to meet today’s security standards, so that's where our engineering and security teams will focus moving forward.
We've worked to make switching to @diabrowser as easy as possible for Arc members. Here's how:
· Your passwords, bookmarks, extensions and history come over to Dia seamlessly.
· Spaces, Folders, and Tab Groups are in Dia and import over with your data intact.
· Dia now surpasses Arc benchmarks in stability, speed, and security.
· The browser features you use in Arc are free in Dia, and the AI is optional.
Thank you for using Arc, for pushing us to make it better, and for building alongside us. The team that made Arc is the same team behind Dia, and some of our most ambitious work is just ahead. We'd love for you to be there with us when it lands.

Not surprised that @arcinternet is discontinuing
They didn’t care about core members; they cared about the 1B users they didn’t have. Why? Ad money. When you’re overvalued, overhyped, and free, the only way to survive is ad money, and for that, you need 100M+ users for a browser

I just tried @SigmaOS on Mac. It's strange at first to get used to a new way of browsing the web, but once you get the hang of it, it's very enjoyable.

👉 Content Management: Browsing the web with @SigmaOS.
TL;DR this is one of those tools you don't come back from.
SigmaOS redefines what it means to browse the web with a modern and efficient approach. Workspaces, Locked Pages, and Airis are my favorite features 💫
I've been trying out @SigmaOS for a while and my internet experience was changed forever. Here are some of the features I can't live without!
sigmaos.com/
Workspaces 🗂️
SigmaOS's Workspaces are not just a tab organizer; they're a mental workspace for each of your projects or interests. Think of it as having different rooms in a house, each designed for a specific activity. You walk into a room, and everything you need is right there, reducing mental clutter and making multitasking effortless.
Command Palette ⚙️
SigmaOS's Command Palette is the epitome of user-centric design. It's not just a quick-access menu; it's your go-to hub for every browser functionality. Whether you're opening new tabs or searching your history, everything is a command away, making SigmaOS incredibly practical for everyday tasks.
Locked Pages 🔒
Locked Pages in SigmaOS are a lifesaver. You can anchor a tab to a specific URL, essentially setting a 'checkpoint' in your browsing journey. This feature frees your mind to explore without the fear of getting lost, allowing you to dive deep into topics while always having a home base to return to.
Airis ✨
Say hello to Airis, SigmaOS's native AI companion that's not just another chatbot—it's your digital confidant. Imagine an AI that understands the webpage you're on, as if it's been surfing the web with you all along. Stuck on a complex paragraph? Airis can break it down. Need to reword a sentence? Consider it done. And the kicker? Airis is just getting started, with plans to become an even more integral part of your online life. This isn't just a nifty add-on; it's a glimpse into the future of browsing, available to you right now.
Last but not least, Keyboard Shortcuts ⌨️
SigmaOS's Keyboard Shortcuts are a subtle yet powerful tool. They may seem like a small change at first, but once you get the hang of it, you realize it's like having a set of hotkeys for the internet itself. It's a feature that quietly revolutionizes how you interact online.
So, Why SigmaOS?
SigmaOS isn't just another pretty browser; it's a productivity powerhouse. Developed by a small but incredibly dedicated team, every update feels like a leap forward. It's a browser that doesn't just meet modern needs; it anticipates them.
