In the first three months of students having access to our new diverse books, these books have been checked out over 8000 times! That’s 14% of our total circulations, even though the books are only 6% of our collections. Kids are loving these books! #wehavediversebooks

Requiring children to choose books at a particular "level" for independent reading often denies them intellectual and social/cultural access AND the right to self-direct their reading lives. More cons than pros. #nerdybookclub

Telling children who love graphic novels that "graphic novels do not help you grow as a reader," is not true and diminishes the children right along with the books. Reading doesn't belong to school. It belongs to readers. Value them!

I've been recommending that teachers embed YouTube videos into Google Slides, then share the slides preview or publish link to avoid ads, but you can now watch YouTube videos in Google Docs via the preview button. Thanks for the tip @TomEMullaney! buff.ly/3kPBXC8

#FMSLibrary checked out close to 50 books-not bad for the first week-this week and delivered either in person or by bus. So good to see the kids excitement at the library being open. #epslibraries

School Supply Delivery! If you can't get to your school for supplies, @evergreenps will bring the supplies to you! Every Wednesday, buses pick up supplies from schools and then drop them off at bus stops all over the district. For more info contact your school #EPSInspires
