A message from the Sid James family on the 50th anniversary of his death:
"It’s always a magical moment when we tell anybody who our father was. Invariably, the revelations are greeted with a warm, laughing smile and sometimes even an impromptu hug. 1/3

Today marks the 90th birthday of @PinewoodStudios.
Sid filmed a total of 36 films at Pinewood - the first being Once a Jolly Swagman in 1948 [Sid played Rowton, the manager of a speedway team].
Sid loved working at Pinewood, which he fondly referred to as ‘the factory’.
In 1974, Sid shot his last Pinewood film Carry on Dick, playing Dick Turpin [AKA The Reverend Flasher!], directed by his great friend, Gerald Thomas.
