learning that jack antonoff helped create some of the strange, distorted vocal effects on midnight rain and question…? by physically manipulating recording tape makes me appreciate midnights even more because those songs genuinely sound like memories being pulled apart while you’re still trying to make sense of them. the voices bend, the sounds shift, and everything feels slightly disconnected from reality, almost like remembering a conversation at 2AM and wondering whether it happened the way you remember and i love that taylor’s music can make something as complicated as nostalgia feel like an actual sound. and now i want to listen to the entire album again with headphones just to catch every little detail i might’ve missed.
