The little green men are already visiting Europe, but despite all our brave words — we're still not shooting them. And if we do shoot them, what then?
My latest newsletter brings little good news:

DISTURBING CONTENT: Brand new surveillance footage captures the moment a Russian strike hits a neighborhood outside Kharkiv, Ukraine, killing three people and injuring dozens.
Among those killed is a teenage boy seen riding his scooter moments before the blast, along with a store employee who had stepped outside for some air.

"Trump has not helped end the war in Ukraine. He has prolonged it. In doing so, he has sided with autocratic Russia and against democratic Ukraine. That pivot has deeply undermined America’s reputation as the leader of the free world."

Did cutting off US military and economic assistance "soften" Putin's position?
Did denying Ukraine any chance of NATO membership "soften" Putin's position?
These guys have no clue about how Putin thinks.
They are way over their heads. And Ukrainians and US national interests lose out because of their amateurish ways.
Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner told Ukrainian officials that the U.S.-Russia diesel deal, allowing Russia to export over 2.25 million barrels, could “soften” Moscow’s position and revive peace talks.
The U.S. also urged Ukraine to stop striking Russian refineries, hoping to persuade Putin to make concessions.
However, a source close to the Kremlin said Putin would only negotiate after securing the remaining 11% of Donbas.

❗️Anne Applebaum, a journalist at The Atlantic, believes that Trump’s actions look like an attempt to force Ukraine to capitulate: he has already made economic concessions to Russia, intensified pressure and threats against Ukraine, and deals are being discussed around people in his circle, including the purchase of Lukoil assets and investments in the Nord Streams. In her view, this could convince Moscow that continuing the war will not prevent it from restoring economic ties with the West, while Ukraine will continue to be forced to make concessions.

Based on what? Because Putin told you that in one of your long, loving phone calls? Zelenskyy keeps agreeing to deals, Putin keeps rejecting them and increasing Russian attacks on civilians. Putin could end the war in an instant. He doesn’t want to.

‼️ Russia hit Kyiv with 6 ballistic missiles. There was no warning of the launches, no air raid alert. People had no time to reach shelter. The attack is still ongoing.

Trump just threw a massive lifeline to Vladimir Putin. And to do it, he’s breaking the law.
Back in 2022, Congress banned Russian energy imports. I voted for it. The law says the president has to consult Congress before he changes anything. He didn’t. Illegal. Deadly. Disgraceful.

We literally do everything we can to help Russia.
Maybe we will supply them with partiots soon
1/ Russian commentators are hinting that the Trump Administration orchestrated the release from Montenegro of Russian warblogger Mikhail 'Rybar' Zvinchuk, despite its $10 million bounty on his head, because it didn't want to blow up its diesel deal of the same day with Putin. ⬇️

We never communicate what we will do next in our operations. Last night, we did not attack any energy facilities on the territory of Russia because President Trump said that there would be an energy ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia. We did not attack, while Russia attacked our gas stations, energy infrastructure, and other facilities.
I think it was Putin’s answer to President Trump. And the message from Russia was very clear – they don't know anything about the energy ceasefire. It's a pity, because they always find reasons not to stop this war. Which is why I think we need more pressure on Russia.
