.@Shrubokrant spoke about Grabbit 2, a Unity Editor plugin for level design and set dressing, explaining how it works, the technical challenges, how collisions are handled, the lessons from Grabbit 1, and the five interactive modes. "I build Jungle's tools, but I am a game developer first, and I use Grabbit every day to build my own games faster. That is the honest reason it keeps improving: I want it for myself. " "If you do level design in Unity, I would love for you to try it and tell me where it falls short. Feedback is what made Grabbit what it is today!"

🐰Grabbit 2 is out! 🐰 I rebuilt my physics placement tool from the ground up for Unity 6. Grab objects and they fall, stack and settle, right in the Editor. No setup, ever. Own Grabbit 1? The upgrade is $6. New? It's 30% off for two weeks! assetstore.unity.com/package…

I believe that the relationship between the director and production should be antagonistic because their goals are inherently antagonistic. This is reductive, but ultimately directors want things that cost money and producers want to minimize costs.

Mosques are filled with complex geometry, kaleidoscopic colour, and intricate ornamentation. Why do they look like that?

A simulation of a hurricane is not a real hurricane, but a simulation of a chess game *is* a real chess game. Similarly, a sufficiently good simulation of a mind is a mind itself.

Tired: artists getting abused by AI Wired: artists getting AHEAD with AI jk I do have thoughts on AI art that are still taking form. But in the meantime, please allow me to offer some more optimistic takes on how AI can improve an artist's creative process:

"Form follows function" is a famous idea that makes us think of buildings with little or no ornamentation. But Louis Sullivan, the man who came up with the phrase in 1896, designed buildings like the one below. So what does "form follows function" actually mean?
