Big bummer to see this, especially considering the folks that paid real money for in-game items and will no longer have access to them. This is why a decentralized system of digital item ownership will be really important for the metaverse.

Whether the industry swap to standalone VR was the best move short term.. not sure. BUT , it has forced the entire industry to optimize to hell which WILL be good long term for OG VR studios. Quest 3 and beyond is gonna kill it.
