On 4 October, we’re doing something a little different.
For one day, Dog Desk Animal Action will share its platform with animal-welfare organisations and advocates working in different countries and communities. To stand together.
Animal welfare is made up of organisations and advocates doing very different work in very different places. On World Animal Day, we’re bringing some of them together through a carefully curated series of posts, giving each participant an equal place in the day.
Every organisation has one allocated post. That post is their contribution to the takeover and includes a direct link to their own platform for anyone who wants to find out more about their work.
This is not a promotional or fundraising opportunity. There will be no donation appeals, no requests for followers and no individual calls for our audience to support one participant over another.
We also want the comments beneath every takeover post to remain in the same spirit. Fundraising links, promotional messages, requests for followers or other self-promotional comments will be hidden.
The point isn't what any individual organisation can gain from the day. The point is that, for one day, we are all here together.
Because no organisation owns this movement, and none of us can do it alone.
It takes a movement, not a brand. 🐾

BREAKING: A teenage girl in Scotland who stood up for herself against a group of migrants — only to be harshly condemned by the media — has now been fully cleared in court.

🚨 BREAKING: An Afghan small-boat migrant allegedly kidnapped a 14-year-old girl in Belgium, sexually assaulting her and smuggling her into Britain on a dinghy.
He then moved into a home in Manchester with the victim.
• The man is not being named to protect the victim.
• A court heard she is from Turkey and was in a Belgian reception centre when, Belgian police say, he was seen leaving with her in June 2025. An appeal was issued after she vanished. He is then said to have taken her through France and across the Channel.
• He was later found living with her in Manchester and arrested by the National Crime Agency’s extradition unit in Feltham, west London, on 19 August.
• He has given three dates of birth and could be 18, 21 or 27. He has agreed to be extradited to Belgium to stand trial. He has not been convicted in the UK.

We’re a very special bonded pair looking for a loving forever home together. As you can see, Derek and I make a great team. In fact, one of Derek’s favourite places to sit is right on my back. I don’t mind one bit, I make a pretty comfy chair if I do say so myself! 💚
I’m a friendly, affectionate Labrador who loves being around people and soaking up all the fuss and cuddles I can get. Derek is 5 years old and he’s my best friend; we’re hoping to find a family who’ll welcome us both with open arms. If that family happens to have snacks handy too, well, we certainly wouldn’t complain! 🦴😋
Our ideal home would be with children aged 14 and over. I’m a lovely boy, but I can get a little enthusiastic and bouncy when I’m excited, and sometimes I forget just how big I am! We enjoy meeting other dogs out on our walks, but we’d prefer to be the only dogs in the home so we can continue being each other’s favourite companion.
We could happily live with dog-savvy cats who have experience living alongside dogs. We’d also love a secure garden where we can potter about, stretch our legs, and enjoy a spot of sunbathing whenever the British weather allows it! ☀️
Once we’ve settled into our new home, we could be left for a couple of hours at a time. Having each other around means we’re never short of company.
