We need more affordable homes. Healey and Wu keep making them harder to build. The onerous stretch codes, energy costs, and affordable housing set-asides are wiping out 30% of projects before a single shovel hits dirt. Even San Francisco just slashed its affordable-unit requirement to get housing moving again. The result? Young people can’t afford to stay and seniors on fixed incomes get crushed by rising property taxes. @mikeminoguema and @OliverForLG have a plan to fix it: they’ll give cities and towns more unrestricted local aid in exchange for eliminating the building stretch codes and reducing permitting times for single-family homes to 45 days or less. We need a new kind of governor that will get us results instead of making the problem worse.

We must always remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001.
