Apparel CVR: -6.2% from Q1 to Q2. Apparel AOV: +6.4% in the same period. Fewer shoppers converted but the ones who did bought more. Will be interesting to see how that trend looks in Q3.

"Losing tests are worth nearly as much as winning ones."—Bailey Johnson, Skipper Skipper ran a stretch of them and ruled out a whole category of ideas they'd otherwise still be arguing about. The lesson here: a data-backed decision beats a guess, every time.

Beautiful creative, gorgeous site design, a fantastic product. So much is working in this post-click breakdown, except for one thing.

The current Meta advice: more creative, more variants, test everything. It's correct. It's also half the funnel. Every new ad sends traffic to a page that someone has to keep in sync.

This is the most critical time of year for ecomm. And little leaks like the mismatch between ads and landing pages that we've found across thousands of ads could cost you the further into the season we get. Now is the best time to audit your ad account, ensure your post-click experience matches the promise you made & optimize that experience to sell more.

After auditing 1,000+ ads in the Meta Library, we found 8% of ads had a mismatch between what the ad promised & what the lander delivered. Far too many to be a one-off problem. It's clearly a leak that's all over the industry. So we build a Claude Skill to check six areas for every ad and its landing page to ensure they match.

Shogun's Meta and Google integrations go past platform-level. Drill any test result from platform to campaign to the individual ad to see how each slice of paid traffic is contributing to a variant's win.

Summer Fridays ad copy: limited-edition travel bundle. Destination: the eye patches product page. The bundle is on the page but it's below the fold & not called out. Was the ad image updated but the copy wasn't? Or was the ad intentionally meant to go to a singular product page? The buyer will never know & they likely won't stick around to find out.

One brand in our post-click experience audit: 160+ live Meta ads, fewer than 20 destination URLs. That ratio can be fine. Or it can mean most of that creative is landing on pages built for a different ad. There's a lot of that lurking around. So when was the last time you checked your ads for the post-click experience?

If you're waiting for a bigger team, you're leaving money on the table. paper republic learned how to scale their A/B testing without adding team members. Here's their advice. "Don't wait until you have a large optimization team. Some of the most valuable insights come from testing simple ideas. The sooner you build a culture of experimentation, the faster you learn what actually works for your customers.

We analyzed 1,000+ ads in the Meta ads library & found 8% had a mismatch in what the ad promised and what the lander delivered. Sometimes it was the wrong product or a missing discount code or a key value prop that was missing from the lander. Either way, there was a disconnect. And that's the kind of thing that hurts you in the long run. You wouldn't invite people over and leave the house a mess. Paid traffic to a mismatched page is the same thing, except you paid for the guests.

Rare Beauty, one of the fastest growing beauty brands, is running an ad that promotes a free sample with purchase over $30 using the code DELUXE. The problem is the post-click experience is a generic collections page with no mention of the gift or the code. It's a broken narrative and we've found this type of mismatch in most ad accounts we've audited. The fix is a simple Claude skill you can run every week. Match your ad to the landing page, plug the leak, earn more. You're welcome.
