We found that caloric restriction (CR) in mice reduces somatic mutation burdens across the genome, and that this effect has some surprising features.

New study with our amazing partners showing calorie restriction reduces aging associated mutation accumulation in mice is out in @CellCellPress.
While lots of interventions increase mutations, here we show CR can actually slow normal aging-associated mutations genome-wide!
Remarkable linkage between diet, genomic integrity, and lifespan.
Interestingly, benefits were not uniformly distributed across the genome.
