Apparently Manchester United were able to build their success due to the lack of financial rules pre-2009.
So I went back to look at the publicly available financial records and found that actually United would NOT have broken Financial Fair Play (FFP) or Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) if they had been applied retrospectively to the 1990s or 2000.
