"From George Washington to the Hebrew Congregation in Newport, Rhode Island, 18 August 1790"
Excerpt —
"For happily the Government of the United States, which gives to bigotry no sanction, to persecution no assistance... May the Children of the Stock of Abraham, who dwell in this land, continue to merit and enjoy the good will of the other Inhabitants; while every one shall sit in safety under his own vine and figtree, and there shall be none to make him afraid..."

This amazing moment was 25 years ago tonight.
We Americans were indivisible that night.
It feels like a lifetime ago.

He was more than an actor in a fun, often profound TV show. He exuded class—embodying belief in a world not just of justice & freedom, but of the fine & beautiful. In an age when so many famous ppl stoop to the lowest common denominator, he made you want to rise to meet him.

What a heartbreaking week it has been. Sir Patrick Stewart was a friend, a colleague, and a magnificent actor. From the stage to the bridge of the Enterprise, he brought intelligence, grace, and a deep sense of humanity to everything he did. Captain Picard stood for the best of us, and so did the man who played him. I was filled with affection and admiration for him and his work.
My heart goes out to Sunny and his family. He will be deeply missed.

Never forget Patrick Stewart delivering one of the most iconic Trek moments of all time. THERE ARE. FOUR. LIGHTS.
Pretty amazing that @FedSoc sat down with Professor Gordon Wood, one of the all time great American historians, to get his thoughts on America 250 on video before his untimely passing. Incredible, and so much to learn!

6 years ago today, Justice Amy Coney Barrett was sworn in as the 115th Justice of the Supreme Court. We thank her for her continued service on the Court!
I will never forget the first lunch Dean and I had together after I accepted the role of Federalist Society CEO. Dean walked into the restaurant wearing his familiar cowboy boots and trench coat. If you've been at any NLC in the last 20+ years, you know the look. He sits down and pulls out a lengthy, spiral bound memo from his class leather satchel, handed it to me, and said "These are all my ideas to make the Federalist Society even better. How can I help?" That's just who he is.
I'm so grateful for Dean's commitment to helping all our members defend the Constitution.

Truly a wealth of knowledge. I learned a lot, even as an avid court watcher. Masterfully done by @JanCBS. And treating justice Alito fairly? A credit to @bariweiss's leadership at CBS. Read the piece here: cbsnews.com/news/samuel-alit…

The whole article by @jancbs includes much more, a remarkably candid conversation with Justice Alito that makes this article a must-read. One of the most important contributions of the article is the discussion about how threats to the Justices have escalated as an intimidation tactic - but that those threats will not deter Justice Alito from changing how he interprets the Constitution. 12/12

On death threats against the Justices: Have these threats caused Alito to regret writing Dobbs? Alito's "response was immediate." "No, not at all. It was a privilege to be able to write it. And I don't regret it, despite what it led to." @JanCBS 4/12
