Safety starts with learning.
In partnership with the LMAC and Spirit of America, Sukkar reached children through EORE
With the support of Spirit of America, Sukkar books were printed and distributed in backpacks filled with educational supplies, helping children stay safe.
Something is taking shape behind the scenes…
Back in the studio, bringing a new story to life, one voice, one detail, one moment at a time.
Can you guess what’s coming next?
In Luxembourg, Sukkar showed how stories can help children learn important safety messages. His character connects mine risk education with the values of the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly quality education and good health and well-being.
Demining operations require far more than individual expertise. Every task relies on rigorous coordination, clear communication, and mutual trust among team members.

Some stories go beyond the page. Today, Sukkar does too.
We are proud to introduce Sukkar’s first animated EORE story: “A Dangerous Jump, Sukkar! | قفزة خطيرة يا سُكّر!”
Some stories are meant to stay with children beyond the page. “قفزة خطيرة يا سُكّر” introduces children aged 5–7 to essential EORE through Sukkar’s adventures.
Read it together, talk about Sukkar’s choices, and help your child turn the story into safety lessons they can remember
The story is written.
The voices have been recorded.
The drawings have learned to move.
And somewhere between sound, color, and one final frame… Sukkar is almost ready.
We’re adding the last touches before the screen comes to life.
The big reveal is closer than you think.
Long before land can be safely accessed, every meter must be examined with care. Each marked lane reflects a systematic clearance process, where trained deminers follow strict procedures to reduce risk and remove explosive hazards.
SHEILD, in partnership with WHH, distributed 380 hygiene kits and ready-to-eat meals (RTEs) to families in Alma Al Chaab.
The field visit also included a coordination meeting with representatives from WHH, GFFO, the Municipality, and the Mayor to discuss the community’s current priorities, hear local concerns, and exchange recommendations.
Behind every successful demining operation is a combination of skill, discipline, and the right equipment. Every tool carried by a deminer serves a specific purpose, helping teams work with precision in environments where accuracy is essential.
From detection to excavation, each step follows strict safety procedures designed to protect both deminers and the communities they serve.
SHEILD Mine Action Unit participated in the Syria Mine Action Partner Conference, held at the ILO in Geneva, Switzerland, from 22 to 24 June 2026.
