The world is getting its first real glimpse that the political realm is pure theater; that global gangsters are calling the shots, and the gears of our institutions are fully stripped. The brake lines are cut, and we are barreling down the mountain. What are you going to do about it now?

Cruelty is the point: Rachel Maddow is reporting 10 million Americans will be kicked off Medicaid on Jan 1, and 20 million more will be ruined by skyrocketing ACA premiums.
The Trump regime's timing is pure barbarism. It was designed to brutalize regular Americans by pulling the rug out from under people the second the midterms ended and all the votes were locked in — with ZERO fucks given to the human suffering it will cause.
Forcing working class families to choose between buying food and losing life-saving healthcare isn't just a cynical Republican policy decision, it's a cruel and sadistic betrayal of 30 million Americans.

My electronic ballot machine flipped my vote to a Republican candidate three times. I clicked on Jon Rosenthal, but then the machine switched it to Bo French. I had to click Jon’s name three times to successfully check out with a blue ballot.
Reported it, but WTF!

Why is our government seeking to secretly hack voting machines?
Political appointees at the Department of Homeland Security wanted CISA, an agency that protects election systems, to acquire and hack a voting machine, which shocked staffers.
“This goes against everything CISA represents,” a former official said.

Another Russian ballistic missile attack came in several waves overnight, and once again, there was no early warning from our partners. They again targeted energy facilities and infrastructure, but a medical clinic, a school, a metro station, and ordinary residential buildings were also damaged. In total, the Russians launched 16 ballistic missiles in a deliberate attack on Kyiv and the Kyiv region. The Russians also launched more than 200 drones of various types, including jet-powered “shaheds,” with attacks spanning from the Kharkiv and Dnipro regions to the Volyn, Rivne, and Odesa regions. Sadly, there are casualties. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Those who were injured are receiving assistance. Overnight and this morning, Russia attacked energy facilities in the Vinnytsia, Volyn, Kirovohrad, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, Kharkiv, Ternopil, Odesa, and Rivne regions. In this one night alone, more than 10 energy infrastructure facilities were damaged, and the lights went out for at least 550,000 families. Repair crews are working at the sites.
Ukraine never wanted this war, and we have welcomed literally EVERY attempt by our partners to bring this war to a dignified end. We have responded positively to EVERY ceasefire proposal. Russia's response, time and again, has been ballistic missiles, “shaheds,” and killings. Putin not only doesn't want to end this war – he doesn't even want to take any steps toward de-escalation. EVERY ONE of our partners has experienced this firsthand when they heard Russia's refusals. And it is crucial to call things what they are. To call the aggressor an aggressor and help Ukraine defend lives. When deliveries of missiles for Ukraine's air defense are blocked while Russia is granted relief or delays in sanctions, this is, unfortunately, a denial of reality on the part of our partners. The reality is that the war continues, and it continues solely because of Russian strikes and Russia's desire to drag this war out. I thank everyone who recognizes this reality and helps Ukraine!

The federal energy regulator, led by a Trump appointee, is reviewing an application for an underwater AI data center in Alaska's Cook Inlet.
Among the first of its kind in American waters.
350 turbines. 66 server "hives." Sunk into the seafloor.
Only about 330 endangered belugas are left in Cook Inlet, down from roughly 1,300 in 1979. The Center for Biological Diversity says the site would sit inside their critical habitat.
They can't see through the glacial silt, so they talk, and they click to find food. Mothers and calves use a special call to stay in touch, and scientists say ship noise can drown it out.
The Center for Biological Diversity warns that noise from building and running those turbines could disrupt how belugas feed and communicate, and push them out of habitat they need.
It's not just the whales. A commercial fishing group says DeepGreen never studied the impact on the 1,300+ active fishing permits in Upper Cook Inlet.
DeepGreen's parent company was formed in January 2026. It has no public website, and its Delaware filings don't say who owns it.
The Alaska Energy Authority says DeepGreen never even contacted them, despite the company claiming ties to the state's own power grid project, and called facts in DeepGreen's filing "dead wrong." Regulators also found DeepGreen never notified the city of Kenai or identified the tribes and Alaska Native corporations affected. DeepGreen fixed it a week later, only after regulators flagged it.
At this point, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is only deciding whether to let DeepGreen study the site. And even past surveys in Cook Inlet needed federal permission to disturb them. As far as the reporting shows, DeepGreen doesn't have it.
The belugas can't speak up in this review. You can. Tell the commission to deny this application.
Link is in the first reply. 🐋

So the GOP paid this kid $250k for viral marketing.
And instead they gave El-Sayed his strongest clip of the cycle!
Amazing!

So the US is now going to attack Europe, with aim of forcing them into using Musk's products that at any moment can be handed to the Kremlin's whims.
The @GOP is going to be destroyed in these midterms. It's all insane.
According to the Financial Times, the US ambassador to the EU has threatened severe economic consequences if Europe gives preference to its own satellite communications companies.
At the same time, the US administration is restricting Starlink and Starshield services in Ukraine, even though European countries are paying for some of these services.
It's a remarkably consistent policy: make your allies dependent on American technology, then threaten them economically when they try to reduce that dependence.
The EU is already in a very difficult position. Its economy is struggling, and the Russian military threat is becoming increasingly real, with Russian drone attacks now reaching EU territorial waters.
And instead of helping its European allies become stronger, Washington is threatening them for trying to become less dependent on it.
