Thousands of parents with autistic children have stayed at home. In flats; with several kids; sick with Covid; with little income; lost jobs; single parents; without support; they have followed the rules.

The same day police had to warn #DominicCummings for breaching lockdown, Ismail Mohamed Abdulwahab aged 13 died alone in hospital with Covid-19. His mother could not be with him nor could his family attend his funeral because they were self-isolating.

I was a member of the Westminster Parliamentary Press Lobby / Press Gallery for 30 years. The No 10 statement on Dominic Cummings followed by an orchestrated campaign of support from ministers is one of the most shameful things I have ever seen from any government.

I've never tweeted so many tweets as today, I'm so enraged. The support for Cummings, from top ministers has only made it worse. They take us for fools, it's contemptuous. I do think, however, they've misjudged public mood. Did they really expect us to take this on the chin ?

I looked after my 2 children while I had covid that for 3 weeks, alone. There was definitely no grey area or information about how we could seek assistance. It was VERY clear we were to stay at home unless we needed to go to hospital. He is pathetic.

I have just read a very sad tweet from a nurse who now feels guilty that she didn’t break the rules and see her dying father and hold his hand. What #dominiccummings has done has undermined the public health message and with it the lives of our colleagues.
