I wrote about @TryHarderFilm & students at SF's top public HS Lowell, who are predominantly Asian American. w/its demanding environment, Lowell is often described as “elite.” But the term comes w socioeconomic baggage that isn't reflective of its students nbcnews.com/news/asian-ameri…

I kinda understand why my supervisor said doing fieldwork is the highlight of my #phdlife. The more people I talk to, the more diverse lived experiences I learn. #AsAmvoicesmatter Another day to feel grateful for the trust they have in me. #AffirmativeAction

When I was yelling inside because of the unstable internet during the interview, my interviewees said, "no worries" and repeated their answers. Cannot thank them enough for bearing with me. #zoom #phdlife 🤞 Hope #Vodafone would be stable tomorrow night.

#phdlife I can't thank all survey and interview participants enough for taking time to participate in my project. It's been my pleasure to learn their different lived experience and perspectives. Contact me to share your opinions on U.S. college admissions. #AsianAm
Sending interview invitation emails, to start my week off right. Fingers crossed! #phdlife #mondaythoughts If you are #Chinese , #Filipino, and #vietnamese Americans, contact me if you feel like talking about your views on the fairness of U.S. college admissions. #HappyMonday

I just realized that I could visit the one-stop shopping center for #Filipino Americans at Eagle Rock via virtual walk tour on #YouTube. How convenient! I was just wondering if many shops are still closed there though. Any thought?

Today, I finally found the name of the Filipino bread rolls my Pilipino host family and I shared together every morning back in 2016: #Pandesal! I've been craving for it for years. Sometimes I feel so blessed that my #PhD project helps me re-connect with Pilipino culture.
