Looking across centiles (10th, 50th, 90th), we discovered that the difference in AMH between people on a given method compared to people not on BC varied based on the AMH centile. Specifically, the higher the centile the smaller % difference between BC users & non users.

We also created reference values across AMH centiles for 6 of the most common BC options: combined oral contraceptive pill, hormonal IUD, copper IUD, progestin-only pill, implant, and ring. This table shows these reference values for a 30yo across BC types

We showed that differences in median AMH levels are age-independent across the reproductive window. AMH levels were ~17% lower in oral contraceptive pill users but were no different in hormonal IUD users compared to no BC users, regardless of age.

What I found most interesting is that while the majority of people with undetectable AMH had high FSH, 29% had normal FSH. It begs the question, what is the progression to POI? Does AMH go to 0 first? FSH start rising? Perhaps more likely, are there different paths?

She also found that a number of different menstrual cycle characteristics are associated with undetectable AMH. Specifically, a recent change in menstrual pattern, a long cycle length, and only sometimes or never getting a period.

She found, as we would expect, that undetectable AMH increases with age. After age 35, the frequency is undetectable AMH is over 1%. By age 39, it reaches 3%. In the mid 40s, it's above 10%.

If you missed @talia_shirazi's talk this morning at #ASRM2021 you missed a great one. I'll go through some of the key things she presented.

It's so amazing to reflect that I met @FertilityRN_PhD during last year's virtual #ASRM conference. After a year of collaborating together we finally got to meet in person. So happy to know this amazing advocate and scholar who is doing important work in the field.

Certainly egg in a nest is not the same thing as toad in the hold.
