Exploring cross-device interactions for the next generation of AI wearables. ⌚ 👓 As smart glasses and other wearable devices evolve, designers need new ways to prototype and test how interfaces work together across devices. Here's a concept we built in ShapesXR to explore how digital interfaces can work together across wearables and in 3D space. Part of the UI was designed in Figma and imported into ShapesXR using our Figma Plugin, while the rest was created directly in ShapesXR, allowing us to bring the experience to life at real-world scale. 💡 With ShapesXR, designers can quickly experiment with new interaction concepts, create spatial UI, and iterate on prototypes for emerging devices — all without writing code. #ShapesXR #AIWearables #SpatialComputing #UXDesign

Giving nurses and other clinical staff access to VR can make onboarding to a new medical environment more efficient and contextual. 🥽 Before working in the actual space, they can explore its digital twin, learn the equipment, and understand how the environment is organized. We built this prototype in ShapesXR to show how quickly this kind of training experience can be created, tested, and iterated. ⚡ And the key part: it can all be done without code, passing APKs around, or going through a separate app publishing process. Just prototype, test, iterate, and deploy. 🚀 #VRTraining #MedicalTraining #DigitalTwin #SpatialComputing

Instead of imagining how a design will feel on a wearable device, you can bring it into Mixed Reality and test interactions in context. For this prototype, we used our ShapesXR Figma Plugin to bring UI screens directly from Figma into ShapesXR. Together with imported 3D assets, we could rapidly transform static designs into an immersive, interactive experience. In the video, we show how to: ✨Import Figma designs directly into ShapesXR ✨Arrange and review interfaces in Mixed Reality ✨Pin UI elements to the user's view, simulating how interfaces behave inside wearable displays ✨Create transitions between imported frames to prototype complete user flows ✨Experience the design at human scale before a single line of code is written Designing for wearable devices requires more than static mockups. Seeing your interface in context helps uncover usability issues, validate design decisions, and iterate faster. Design. Experience. Iterate. All in ShapesXR. #MixedReality #SpatialComputing #WearableTech #UXDesign #XRDesign #Prototyping #ShapesXR #WearableDevices

🎓One of the biggest challenges in spatial design education is accessibility — and @ucsc is helping change that with @ShapesXR at the center of the experience. Today, many VR/XR design courses are still seen as too technical for beginners and are often aimed at upper-division students. But at the University of California, Santa Cruz, the student-led course Creative Design in Virtual Reality proved that VR design doesn’t need to have a high entry bar. Built around ShapesXR, the course gave undergraduate students a collaborative, hands-on way to design and prototype immersive experiences — without requiring prior VR or programming experience. Instead of spending time learning complex technical workflows, students focused on creativity, spatial design, storytelling, and user experience while working together across disciplines. And within just ten weeks, students from a wide range of backgrounds were able to build fully functional VR prototypes and bring their ideas to life in immersive space✨ “We need to let students experiment with the technology of today. ShapesXR helped us tear down the cost and prerequisite barriers that keep so many people out.” — Samantha Wang, Student Instructor Huge thanks to Deniz Yaralioglu, Samantha Wang, Tela Favaloro at UCSC for creating this course and pushing inclusive VR education forward 🚀 Read the journal paper about this class, published by American Society of Engineering Education — link in the comments 👇 #VR #SpatialComputing #Education #XR #VirtualReality #DesignEducation #ShapesXR #ImmersiveLearning #EdTech

With @ShapesXR, teams can rapidly design, prototype, and test immersive training concepts directly in-headset with SMEs — helping identify what works (and what doesn’t) before committing to production. That’s exactly how @UNMC_iEXCEL accelerated the design of immersive VR training tools like Skullbase VR — created to help neurosurgery and ENT residents better understand the complex anatomy of the skull. By prototyping in 3D early, they reduced iteration time and streamlined the path from ideation to development. #XR #VirtualReality #MedicalTraining #ImmersiveLearning #ImmersiveDesign

Spatial Anchors are changing the way we design for automotive interiors. Instead of building multiple costly physical prototypes, we can attach digital UI directly to real-world surfaces and test different concepts instantly in Mixed Reality. This allows designers and engineers to explore layouts, instrument clusters, and infotainment interfaces in the actual vehicle environment — long before anything is manufactured. Mixed Reality accelerates iteration, improves collaboration, and brings human-centered design into the real space where the interaction actually happens. By blending digital interfaces with the physical cockpit, we can prototype faster, test smarter, and design experiences that truly fit the way people drive. #MixedReality #SpatialComputing #AutomotiveUX #XR #HMI #ProductDesign

We’re super excited to see how devs are using ShapesXR to build better apps! During the Meta Presence Platform Hackathon 2024, Kore Meta used ShapesXR to rapidly design and validate spatial gameplay for Multiverse Kaitenzushi — a mixed reality game where players learn the Japanese alphabet while becoming sushi chefs. Under intense time pressure, the team needed to turn 2D wireframes into 3D layouts and test spatial interactions, but traditional Unity workflows were too slow and don’t allow to feel the scale, reach, object flow, and user perspective fast enough. With ShapesXR, Kore Meta white-boxed the gameplay environment options quickly and the entire team stepped inside their ideas. They met in the same 3D space and evaluated distance, visibility, and user comfort in real time. This helped to make decisions on the spot with no delay and experiment freely through no-code iteration. This workflow contributed to the project being selected as a Top 3 Finalist in the Skill Building Category at the Meta Presence Platform Hackathon 2024.

How do you teach #XR to students who have never touched #VR? @ConestogaC found the answer by making ShapesXR a core part of their curriculum 👇 What makes this case so compelling for educators is how one tool supported multiple verticals inside the classroom: 1- Storytelling & Narrative #Design: Students built immersive scenes based on children’s stories constrained inside a snow globe or fishbowl to encourage clarity and spatial intent. 2- Industrial & Process Simulations: Learners replicated real-world workflows like warehouse logistics to show step-by-step interactions in 3D. 3- Collaboration & Feedback: Faculty members could “step into” student scenes in VR, give live critique, and guide iteration. 4- Rapid Prototyping to #Unity Export: Students were able to build functional prototypes by exporting their designs to Unity. As a result, students gained VR fluency faster, collaborated more deeply, and built projects that felt industry-ready. A special thank you goes to Andre Plante, who drove this initiative. Head over to the case study section on our website to learn more about this and other inspiring stories.
