ঢাকা, ১৫ অক্টোবর ২০২৬ (বৃহস্পতিবার): হাইতিতে জাতিসংঘ নিরাপত্তা পরিষদ কর্তৃক অনুমোদিত Gang Suppression Force (GSF)-এ অংশগ্রহণের লক্ষ্যে বাংলাদেশ সেনাবাহিনীর পাঁচটি কন্টিনজেন্টের অগ্রবর্তী দলের ৫০ জন সদস্য আজ (১৫ অক্টোবর ২০২৬) হাইতির উদ্দেশ্যে বাংলাদেশ ত্যাগ করেছেন।
হাইতিতে গমনের পূর্বে আজ সকালে সেনাসদরে সেনাবাহিনীর চিফ অব জেনারেল স্টাফ লেফটেন্যান্ট জেনারেল মো: মাইনুর রহমান, ওএসপি, এসইউপি, এডব্লিউসি, পিএসসি, গমনকারী সেনাসদস্যদের সঙ্গে সাক্ষাৎ করেন। এ সময় তিনি মিশন এলাকায় দায়িত্ব পালনের ক্ষেত্রে পেশাদারিত্ব, শৃঙ্খলা, সতর্কতা ও নিরাপত্তা বজায় রাখাসহ বিভিন্ন গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বিষয়ে প্রয়োজনীয় দিকনির্দেশনা প্রদান করেন।
আন্তর্জাতিক শান্তি ও নিরাপত্তা প্রতিষ্ঠায় বাংলাদেশের অব্যাহত অবদান এবং বিশ্বশান্তির প্রতি দৃঢ় অঙ্গীকারের আরেকটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ পদক্ষেপ এই মোতায়েন।

Bangladesh Army's Advance Team Leaves for Haiti to Participate in Gang Suppression Force (GSF)
Dhaka, October 15, 2026 (Thursday): Fifty members of the advance team of five contingents of Bangladesh Army left the country for Haiti today (October 15, 2026) to participate in Gang Suppression Force (GSF) authorized by the United Nations Security Council.
Before leaving for Haiti, Chief of General Staff of Bangladesh Army, Lieutenant General Md Mainur Rahman, OSP, SUP, awc, psc, met the departing army personnel at the Army Headquarters this morning. During the meeting, he provided necessary guidance on various important issues including maintaining professionalism, discipline, vigilance and security in discharging duties in mission area.
This deployment is another important step in Bangladesh's continued contribution to establishing international peace and security and its strong commitment to world peace.

63 anni fa, nella notte del 9 ottobre 1963, la tragedia del Vajont portò via quasi duemila vite, segnando per sempre la storia della nostra Nazione.
Una ferita che il tempo non potrà mai cancellare. Una tragedia che ci ricorda quanto siano preziose le vite umane, la sicurezza dei cittadini e la responsabilità di chi è chiamato a proteggerli.
Oggi l’Italia si stringe nel ricordo di chi perse la vita, nel rispetto del dolore delle famiglie e nel riconoscimento della forza e della dignità delle comunità che hanno saputo rialzarsi.
Ricordare è un dovere. Impedire che tragedie come questa si ripetano è una responsabilità che abbiamo verso le generazioni future.

Con l’approvazione definitiva della nuova legge elettorale, quando gli italiani torneranno a votare potranno scegliere tutto: il partito, la coalizione, il programma, il candidato premier e - di nuovo - il proprio parlamentare. Il centrodestra reintroduce il voto di preferenza, che mancava da oltre trent’anni, restituendo ai cittadini il potere di scegliere direttamente chi li rappresenta.
Allo stesso tempo introduciamo regole pensate per favorire la stabilità e la coerenza parlamentare di qualunque governo, indipendentemente dal suo colore politico. Perché chi vince le elezioni deve poter governare, e chi viene eletto deve rispondere agli elettori che lo hanno scelto.
Introduciamo anche il voto fuori sede per studenti, lavoratori e caregiver familiari, nei casi previsti dalla legge: una risposta concreta a una richiesta avanzata da tanti cittadini, soprattutto giovani, che vivono lontano dal proprio Comune di residenza.
Governi stabili e maggiore partecipazione significano più continuità, più responsabilità e più capacità di dare risposte concrete agli italiani.
E a chi sperava di vedere il centrodestra diviso, oggi rispondiamo con i fatti: siamo uniti, compatti e determinati a portare avanti gli impegni presi con i cittadini.

I was very sorry to hear of the passing of Richard Morecroft. As the face and the voice of the news of the ABC, Richard became a beloved part of Australian life.
Combining a consummate professionalism with an unyielding humanity, Richard was a figure of absolute trust, a warm and familiar presence who guided us through the good times and bad.
He loved the arts and was deeply passionate about our natural environment. Nothing completed the picture so delightfully as the time we learned that he used to keep a baby flying fox safe and sound beneath the desk while he was presenting the news.
Richard was a great Australian and we were lucky to have him as part of our lives.
Our thoughts now are with his partner Alison Mackay.
May Richard Morecroft rest in peace.
