In Japan, too, girls are being targeted by immigrants, just as in the UK. In Setagaya, Tokyo, a 45-year-old Uzbek delivery worker sexually assaulted an elementary school girl. The accused hugged the girl, kissed her face, and touched her body over her clothes. The girl was home alone at the time. During police questioning, the accused admitted to the crime, saying, “I liked her, so I couldn’t control my feelings.” After this incident, the girl began suffering from mental distress. When the girl went to take a shower, she scrubbed the areas the accused had touched so hard that her skin turned red and began to bleed. She became afraid of her own front door and the sound of the intercom. According to her mother, the girl freezes when she sees a foreign delivery worker on the street. Local people are describing this incident as a consequence of the government’s immigration policy.
