Recently my farts have had very evocative smells; the gents toilets in Rhyl 1992, school dinners from 1971, my puppy 1973, a carpet in my flat 2001, vomiting outside Snobs 1983, Sovereign cigarette smoke 1978, Spangles, chip shop pickled eggs; I'm going to die soon aren't I?

Why are we not protesting in mass on the streets?
You do realise what is coming right?
They’re coming for everything:
- Your savings
- Your property
- Your kids future
We are such a bunch of pussies.

Main drivers:
Housing - 87% above EU avg. (worst in EU)
Energy - 40% above EU avg. (worst in EU exacerbated by sanctions/less supply)
Food - (related to energy costs)
Insurance premiums - one of the worst in EU (cartel like behaviour)
The world doesn’t owe you a business
Cost of Living:
One of the biggest drivers to the cost of living is the rapidly rising cost of employment.
Ireland’s min-wage looks set to rise in the next budget by 5.6% to €14.94 or €31,080 annually.
But the true cost of this to a business is €35,100 per employee after PRSI of 11.4% and 1.5% pension auto-enrolment.
This is all before annual-leave cover, insurance, training, uniforms, equipment, rates, tolls, and sick leave etc.
If the proposed min-wage increase goes ahead, the basic cost of employing a worker will be roughly 50% higher than it was in 2020!!
This is not sustainable....
Especially when businesses are also absorbing higher energy, fuel and financing costs.
In order to be able to afford a minimum wage employee costs of €35,100, a businesses must then generate that money through VAT-inclusive customer sales:
So if the business' VAT is 23% that means €43,173 in customer sales.
or
if the VAT rate is 13.5% that means €39,839 in customer sales.
This all assumes 100% margin.
A typical café trying to keep wages at 30–35% of sales may need ~€128,000 in customer spending to support just one minimum-wage position.
So expect €5 coffees and €10 pints.
Businesses cannot continually absorb these increases: they eventually either raise prices, reduce staffing or close.
The worst thing about all this is that very little of these extra costs actually go to the worker in take home pay..... its mostly all tax!!!
I’m being blanked by the one who lives with me.
Over USA politics. Thinks I have far right opinions. Hates me. Disrespected me on Sunday whilst living in my house rent free and eating my food.
Won’t even answer a whatsapp now.
I’m genuinely done with other people I really am

Just had the creepiest scam ever happen 20 minutes ago.
I got a call from my wife telling me she forgot her wallet and needed the credit card to pay for her gas.
Except my wife was at home with me, and drives a Tesla. Same voice, bit... off, weird cadence but 100% sounded just like her. If she wasn't there, and it wasn't about gas I would have fallen for it.
I entertained it for awhile to get more out of it, I was so confused. Must be some sort of voice deepfake. The responses were too fast for ai, I think it was a voice filter. I wish I had thought to record it.
The future is about to get fucked. Warn your loved ones, do verbal passwords with your kids.
Bit taken aback

I came home early and found my wife crying at the kitchen table
"Matthias, I have to tell you something. I cheated on you. I've been sleeping with my boss for a year"
"Does anyone know about it?" I asked
"Nobody, we kept it a secret..."
I nearly collapsed
Her company policy requires any romantic relationship with a direct supervisor to be disclosed to HR
A whole year of undisclosed conflict of interest means her job could be compromised
I cannot believe my wife would ruin her career by not filing one simple form with human resources

Simon Harris Tánaiste "Deputy PM" Ireland wastes time flogging a savings scheme while Ireland drowns in soaring living costs, collapsing healthcare, mass immigration and a housing disaster. Get your head out of your arse and fix the bloody country. 🇮🇪:
They aren’t it was just a talking point for Varadkar.
Simon Coveney was an idiot by the way “what about the people who cannot get up early in the morning”.
Yes they’re really sleepy and they don’t know how to set their alarms on their phones.
Dónal Lynch: Why are politicians still obsessed with people who get up early? It’s not the same as working hard

Remember, thinking that ~1 in 4 of Ireland's population being migrants is too high a figure does not make you an anti-migrant or a racist.
You are fully entitled to hold that opinion.
There's no issue with not wanting Ireland to feel like a foreign country.

How is the Irish govt able to give billions to non-nationals/migrants but they can't financially help out the Irish people who need help, like the hundreds of thousands of kids in enforced deprivation & the hundreds of thousands of people in arrears for electricity bills etc?
