🚨 A Supreme Court order is not a suggestion. It is the law.
In Ashwini Kumar Upadhyay v. Union of India, W.P.(C) 943/2021, the Supreme Court directed authorities to act suo motu when speech or conduct attracts cognisable offences—including provisions dealing with promoting enmity and outraging religious feelings—even when no formal complaint is filed.
So why should a citizen have to run from police station to police station when an obvious offence is already publicly visible?

No selective enforcement.
No political filters.
No religious double standards.
No waiting for a “complaint” when the police already have knowledge of the offence.
And this principle must apply equally to every faith and every community.
Freedom of speech is not a licence to deliberately provoke hatred, insult religious beliefs or threaten communal harmony.
The rule of law cannot depend on who was offended, who made the statement, or which religion is involved.
If the Supreme Court says act, the police must act.
Orders of the Supreme Court must be enforced on the streets—not merely quoted in courtrooms. 🇮🇳
