Today, at the Superior Court of Los Angeles County, the Compton Courthouse, visiting our friends at Community Legal Services. Great self-help center. We also stopped by the Domestic Violence office at the courthouse, all in support of the San Fernando Valley Bar Association attorney referral service, which serves all of Los Angeles County with no-cost referrals and no-cost consults. @LASuperiorCourt

The San Fernando Valley Bar Association is so very proud to see the Mediation Center of Los Angeles thrive. The SFVBA will continue to support this highly impactful organization and the amazing work it does. Congratulations to all of the honorees and founders Adam D.H. Grant and Myer Sankary. @LASuperiorCourt
Congratulations Mediation Center of Los Angeles on an outstanding event last week. As always, great connecting with old friends, making new friends, and honoring the very long-standing relationship between MCLA and the San Fernando Valley Bar Association. So much great MCLA work! Pictured here with my favorite Daily Journal contact and friend, Ricardo Pineda. @sfvba

This is the second legal publication I’ve supervised. Have to say, I’m most proud of this one (so far). We’ve tried to make content a bit more “easy,” yet still scholarly. Great issue here, highlighting two legends in the profession. @LewittHackman
The February 2026 issue of Valley Lawyer is now available: sfvba.org/feb2026. Remembering Leon and Maurice Lewitt Defining the Client in a Family-Driven Context Packard v. Packard (2025) ...and much, more! #SFVBA

Avoid referral related liabilities. Refer clients with confidence throughout Los Angeles County and Ventura County. The San Fernando Valley Bar Association Attorney Referral Service carefully screens clients and refers to appropriate attorneys and resources in all practice areas. (818) 340-5429 [email protected]

Terminating service and support contracts might be my secret weapon. It’s a type of journey to consolidate operations, but many orgs are just bloated with fragmented systems and operational elements.

Great lunch with the @SFVBA Family Law Section leadership. Courts, Settlement Program, Meet the Judges, networking, timely programming, committee development, etc.

To make public statements or not to make public statements. That appears to be the question of the day.
