Seen a few people posting about banking issues lately so its time for a plug for time.bank I thought, based on working with Wells Fargo, that banking had to be a sterile and frustrating experience. No lasting relationships, no consistency, no flexibility. Example: for years I had been to increase our mobile deposit limit at. We even got "invited" to join the private bank. I said I might be interested if they could increase the mobile deposit limit. Nope. Then I remembered talking to a guy at my sister's wedding whose family owned a bank in the Mid West. I tracked him down and made a phone call. Time bank is family owned and operated by a great and huge (15 kids) family. A bunch of them, and their cousins, work at the bank. One time we were in the process of working on a real estate deal. I was talking to Stephen, our account manager and he said "everything looks good, just need to take this to the loan review committee." I was like, "you mean you need to go talk to your uncle and all your cousins about how you can get me the best deal?" He laughed and said "basically." They genuinely make banking easy and pretty damn close to enjoyable. When I call about something, even as basic as tracking down an account number or a check image, the phone rigs once or twice and then I'm talking to a vice president. It has truly been a revolution for me. Anyways I don't gain anything by this other than I want other people to have a good opportunity and support another good family business.
